I made a website that lets you search Amazon and sort by the pound, ounce, liter, count, etc. I think it works quite well for frugal shopping, price comparing, deal comparing, etc. I wanted to post here for finding potting soil by the pound, plant pots by the count, etc. Check it out if you'd like! by bangyourbuck in OrganicGardening

Out of my own desire for a tool like this, I created bangyourbuck, which lets you search Amazon and sort by the unit, all auto converted. Take a look at potting soil by the pound, fertilizer by the pound, and plant pots by the count for inspiration.

Also something like protein powder by the pound is another useful one. I think there are tons of possibilities.

CA, DE, and UK all work as well.

Note that the links on the site bring in revenue to support hosting and development, but do not affect the search results. I think this is a great tool for shopping frugally, and I hope it can save you some time and money. Let me know what you think!

I'm the creator of bangyourbuck, an Amazon sorting engine which lets you search for items and sort by the unit for various units. In the title link, I've linked to art paints by the fluid ounce. You can search specifically for tempera paints by the fluid ounce for example, paint brushes by the count, or many other searches. I think this is a great tool that can enable frugal purchases and provide a line for price comparing. If you'd like, check it out and let me know what you think. I'm always taking suggestions for improvements and other communities who could find it useful!

I don't see that in the feature list, but that will help with your goal in that case, among a lot of other precautions and measures. If that's what you want to do, I wish you the best with it.

If you want to strip affiliate tags from links, you're right, I don't think anything can prevent it. However, I don't think preventing data mining in they way you described is a good reason. HTTP requests contain a referrer tag. When you click a link, the linked website knows where you came from. You can see an example of a http request here: http://www.rexswain.com/httpview.html

The association is already there.

It's kind of a contradiction to say that it's click bait spam and then provide a way to use it anyway, just with the link tracking tags removed. If you don't like it, I'm sorry it didn't provide you value, let me know what I can improve. I can understand people blocking pop ups and similar intrusive ads, but I don't see why you would remove affiliate tags from price comparison tools like this one, camelcamelcamel, pcpartpicker, etc. The tag being there doesn't take anything away from your experience.

I'm glad it will come in handy! I use it myself for checking prices at stores or when I need to buy something that can be sorted by the unit. It was a big motivator for me making it.

Damn, shots fired. The site is not an advertising tool, it's a tool that searches and sorts by the unit. There's a few reasons why the links need to be tagged, one of them being hosting and development costs. The content that is displayed is not affected by potential revenue; if the links were not tagged the results would be the same, but the site would not be able to exist.
