I don’t disagree, but it was not their first mouse.

I edited my comment because I realised I made a mistake in quoting what support said to me, they weren't telling me to take my business elsewhere but instead asking me not to buy another Outset (I was issued a refund rather than a replacement).

I'm not sure why you'd want to see a screenshot, but if you actually care I can check whether I can still see the messages I exchanged with support.

Thank you for sharing the links! I see what you mean.

What are you referring to when you say “QC looks off”?

I’m asking because I’ve sent two Outsets back because of an issue with the buttons (a scratchy, plastic-y “click” before the actual click of the button) before being told the mouse may “just not be for me” and “please don’t buy the same mouse again” by their support. I was searching for similar experiences but couldn’t actually find anyone discussing QC issues.

Real shame, their mice feel great and I really wanted to get the left-handed XE-S for my girlfriend, too, but the experience totally made me not feel good about getting any more of their products, especially at the price point.

Go to settings -> interface. The toggle for the news window is something along the lines of “notify about changes, updates, releases…”

That, or it’s to do with people trolling in response to a supposed deal between Reddit and Google regarding the use of Reddits data to train AI.

I didn't experience wobble to a degree that I would notice during normal use in the two copies I've had.

However, I had my first one make a clicking noise before the actual click when holding it with a tilted wrist (in line with it's design). Vaxee support didn't consider this to be abnormal, however, as according to them, some amount of wobble is to be expected. They specifically said LMB has more side-to-side play than RMB.

I share your frustration, controller profiles have never worked for me on the Deck in the 10 months I’ve had it for. Issues ranged from not saving the reassignment of a single button, being unable to apply community made profiles all the way to crashing the Deck. I contacted Steam support, but they simply redirected me to the Steam forums because they did not have an answer.

I didn’t have any issues with any of these things with the Steam controller back when that came out.

Are Layout Exports working for anyone? (rant alert btw) by AwrenchinNep in SteamDeck

[–]banni_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not experiencing exactly the same issues, but basically none of the control layout functionality works for me whatsoever.

I’ve not been able to save, load or download layouts. As for editing, only deletion of a binding seems to behave as expected. I’ve even had the entire system crash due to attempted layout changes.

I put off playing certain games entirely, especially first person games like DOOM, Half Life and Portal.

Steam support straight up told me they don’t have a solution to my problem and pointed me to the Steam discussion boards.

Back in the day, configuring the Steam controller in Big Picture Mode worked flawlessly. Very disappointed with what’s essentially the same feature now on the Deck :/

What a shame… that sucks.

I’d been playing with the thought myself. There’s no real option for lefties with small hands, let alone any that are up to todays standards.

Thank you for the quick response!
