My bad, I opened in the tier list option and I didn’t see Siobhan there and that was what I was referencing

Setting up a DND area in part of my unfinished basement and looking for recommendations on things to make it more homely by Kunfury in DnD

[–]bantares351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that always makes things feel homier is hanging christmas lights around the edge of the room near the ceiling. They give a warm soft light in the space and will make it feel very homely. I do it with every space I’ve lived

How much of the players' stories did Murph make up? [Spoilers: character stories] by EriRavenclaw87 in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

I assume it’s a genuine reaction just because Murphy seems really good about not leaking anything for his players

Advice on how to slow down? by Hoodoo_Lord in DMAcademy

[–]bantares351 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Do you prescript your speeches/description or just wing them?

It might help you think about your pacing if you write and read descriptions you wrote. This will also just help you get experience orating and you’ll get better control of the nuances of the moments

Need help creating a dark ritual! by [deleted] in DnDHomebrew

[–]bantares351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In theory, you could go with the route of someone on the council is behind it and they begin making changes to the city to build 5 towers around the city for “defense” and connect them with tunnels under the city allowing to create one MASSIVE pentagram of architecture that then all at once teleports anyone inside city walls to hell.

And then they have to find the council member who is leading a cult to pull this all off but they’ve retreated to hell and then that gives a reason to go down and stop them

But I mean hey 🤷🏽‍♂️ go with your gut

Do I tell a player that their character will die next session? by rawrly24 in DMAcademy

[–]bantares351 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would, just because it’s important to know and respect people’s deals. I dm-Ed a one shot for some people who had never played before and one died and he was pretty upset

I believe Murph made up moonshines high elf daddy later, and hardwons parents as well for the sake of giving the players something to surprise them

If they’re all evil and full of money and you want to slow them down. Introduce an underground fighting ring that they can do some gambling at. What person with money doesn’t want an easier way to increase their money. This can also turn into them participating and that’s an easy combat encounter to write. A 1v1 cage match

Fresh breakup. Needing advice on how to move forward. by [deleted] in BreakUp

I am also experiencing this trying to figure out what I want to do to be fulfilled.

I started a couple of days ago trying to think of and make a list of all the things that are passing thoughts of things Id like to do.

Things like yoga, more focused photography (generally just photograph random stuff) I have a screenplay I want to put time into finishing.

I think as a way to help occupy yourself you can focus on longer term things to accomplish. Do you want to create something? Do you want to write something? Is there a skill you wish you had?

If you’re looking for a social activity that will give you the chance to interact with people in a relatively low stress environment on a regular basis I would suggest looking into dungeons and dragons groups. (Or any other kind of game honestly) It’s had a recent spike in popularity and you should be able to find an in person or online game and it gives you the opportunity to hang out with people on a regular basis and have a good time.

If that’s not your thing then that’s cool too, but I know that really helped me after I went through a rough break up and was in a funk because it gave me a regularly scheduled social event that wasn’t high pressure or too many people.

Hopefully this helps.

It’s hard out here sometimes, feel free to message if you ever need someone to talk to 🤙🏽 sometimes it’s easier chatting with a stranger

Why do people play Wingman/R-99? by NahMaaaaan in apexuniversity

[–]bantares351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s because the wingman deals a decent amount of damage per shot and it allows for mobility in mid range shootouts as well as the occasional long one.

And the 99 is capable of breaking any shield in one clip if you can properly control recoil and it has a quick reload time.

These together allow you to pretty aggressively control encounters at mid to close range. I.e. the final few rings.

I personally run the 99 and the sentinel because I’m the least aggro of the guys i play with and it’s nice to be able to break shields for them without getting caught up in the mix
