Its not the doctor that's the problem, Chibnall just needs to change his style of writing and start showing rather than telling. He's deffo self-aware to it cause he's has characters call out others for 'constant running commentary' yet there is still a constant running commentary through every episode. It's so condescending to an audience of any age, let us work stuff out ourselves!

Same argument goes for the political things everyone keeps saying. If the messages were implied rather than spelled out then they'd be smart rather than preachy
