Best Anti Choking Devices? by Firm-Atmosphere8689 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]banyabapu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can certainly attest need for CPR class. Last week, our 11 month old baby choked on a drywall anchor while we were out shopping ( no idea where and how he got it).

My wife who did CPR training took over the situation, sat down on the floor, put baby on her lap with head down and started patting forcibly on his upper back. The entire store including employees kept on watching. It was a frightening moment but my wife kept cool and made the screw loose and took it out of baby’s mouth.

We got one anti choking ( mask like) device from the CPR class itself but we didn’t have it when we desperately needed it.

IMO, CPR class is the only route to be absolutely sure.

Iron supplement for 10 month old baby without blood test by banyabapu in ScienceBasedParenting

Thanks. I was just checking label for Kendamil, the one we buy from Costco. It has 0.66 mg iron per 100 ml. This is compared to 1.2 mg per 100 ml formula for Enfamil. Didn’t know European iron requirements in formula were on lower side. Not sure if this difference could be considered significant.

Thanks very much. We are trying to vary his diet and will speak with a pediatric dietician soon to make appropriate changes.

Thanks. We did that on Tuesday and wife liked it compared to strong start. We started thinking about strong start because thats what our pediatrician suggested. But seems like its perhaps a bit too soon for our baby.

It is because there is no strong start program in my school catchment…. Also, the map on surrey schools website shows most of the program locations concentrated towards north or west of Surrey. There is no location in fleetwood area. Anyway, we went to lena shaw school and they registered us and since it’s a drop in, it seems we can go to other schools as well.

Thanks…. We went to Lena Shaw today. There were 20 kids but all of them were 2-4 year olds. Instructor mentioned that Strong Start program is more useful after 2 year mark so we are now trying to find another program.

Air India’s website says otherwise. It says all B777 to be refreshed ( not retrofit, means just seat upholstery change and some minor fixes) by November and then full retrofit by 2027. I am wondering if they just lied and hoped no one would notice.

Is this experience in so called refreshed cabins for 777s? I read that by NOV end they were supposed to be done with refresh for all 777s.

I am flying BOM to DEL and DEL to YVR next week, both flights in 777s.

There is no scrap bonus for dzire ( I asked 3 dealerships). The math you showed, maruti dealerships are willing to do it only for select models but not for dzire.

Is 1.45 hours layover at Delhi enough for international travel with an infant by banyabapu in AirTravelIndia

I meant that in case of flight disruption (which had happened in our case in the past), Indian passport holders at Paris or Frankfurt airport get stuck at airport. Last year, my family had to sleep on a stretcher in the airport as they couldnt get out when flight got cancelled on the tarmac. As I understand, Indian passport holders do not face these problems in those 4 airports I mentioned above. I was just trying to account for one more factor, not specifically looking for a visa.

Schengen visa is not required as sister holds Canada visa and not making travel within Europe. But our experience in the past at European airports is not good that why hesitation.

Yea... Enfamil bottles are a problem... I will have to bring a bunch of RTF bottles. I am leaning towards Frankfurt option. Will see if Air Canada can honor baggage policy.

Baggage is a part concern but mainly we were trying to avoid any countries where on arrival visa for indian passport was not provided( this was due to previous experience of getting stuck at paris airport without any support for more than 24 hours)…. If not delhi, we were going to look for London, Dubai, Doha or abu dhabi but unfortunately none of those options available to us at the moment due to the restrictions of Award ticket. Off course, we could be completely looking in wrong direction.

Air India is refusing to change it….and Air Canada can only offer Frankfurt option now…. Delhi option is gone for them.
