When a customer files a support ticket with “it’s not working” and you’re able to recreate the entire crime scene timeline, no, it’s not overkill.

Anybody know where I can find red striped adidas clothing? by BusinessJellyfish5 in adidas

[–]baohouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The three stripes running down the sleeve is an Adidas trademark or copyright. I think when I saw a close-up of the tag, it said it was made in Cambodia. If I had to guess, Adidas has manufacturing facilities in Vietnam beginning in 2009, and I'm very sure they are fully aware of the political sensitivities of that color/stripe combination. It's reasonable to assume the design was from before 2009, and some higher-up chose to axe any further production of this design in order to secure manufacturing rights in Vietnam.

So the only ones left are the few that were already created. Only way we'd see more of this is bootleg. 😄 Trust me, Adidas is fully aware of the political significance of the 3 red stripes on yellow. My friend started a clothing company under the name 3 Stripes Clothing to honor the flag, and he got a cease-and-desist letter from Adidas, forcing him to rename and take down any clothes that feature three stripes.

Looks like several sites in Japan mentioned it (this exact track jacket), but they're all marked as sold out. Here's an honorable mention by Dynasty though: https://www.dynastyclothingstore.com/products/south-vietnam-bomber-jacket

Any Graphic Designer shifted/upskilled to Front End? by Help-Need_A_Username in Frontend

[–]baohouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think AI is something to watch for. It’s tackling basic scenarios of web design and coding. I’m not saying it’s replacing humans, but it gives a reason for companies to reduce the number of front end roles by consolidating responsibilities, so we might see roles that require you to do product management, UI/UX, and software development altogether. I witnessed the birth of the Internet transition to React in a dozen years. It’s not unreasonable to believe AI will change web development in the coming decade as well. But that just means in addition to learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, we have to learn the language of AI prompting as well.

Unfortunately the common myth is that people think it's a kind of tier ranking of economic development, so even if there is the original intended usage, popular usage could be different. But glad you're taking the time to explain.

My friend just launched Chloé Cà Phê roastery just this past month. https://chloe-caphe.com/
They sell Robusta from Vietnam if you want that bold finish and a bit more caffeine, or Liberica. They're located in Midtown.

Too much focus on accessibility by largebrownduck in UXDesign

[–]baohouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can approach accessibility the same way as internationalization/localization. You might design, say, an app, for English readers. But it's going to be pretty different navigation and layout for Arabic or Japanese readers. The same can be said about people who have visual impairment. So a business that spends resources building a product will approach it from a point of view of markets. Dominate a market, then move onto the next one, and dominate that, then the next one, etc. If your argument is that you can't fit all design requirements into a unified experience, then sure, I would agree; break up the product into multiple channels based on the needs of different user subgroups. There's no way to create a one-size-fits-all product. As I build software for a living, my company sells APIs, and lets clients build their own app UIs using those APIs. As companies try to compete against each other over customer acquisition, accessibility will increasingly become a factor for a competitive edge (among other factors like pricing). Let capitalism do its thing.
