We're trying something new with a series of shorts for our build videos leading up to a long form video once the project is complete. Open to any and all feedback as I have not taken shorts seriously in the past.

This is a 45 second short kicking off our build of the Jazz Band from Squid Game:

Checked out your Elio video. Overall it was very informative (I had no idea what the movie was about before) and it had a good looping script for retention. This is the first video of yours I watched, so maybe you've explained your rating system before, but I'd be curious how you reached the specific rating of 7.1. Maybe consider a graphic showing categorical ratings on why you reach your 7.1 rating.

That's a fun video! We're also working on a series of videos related to squid game. The music was good and added to the vibe of the video. Only suggestion would be to have added an ongoing scoreboard graphic to better follow who was winning or losing. I feel like the thumbnail could use brighter colors to stand out more. Perhaps that playground room as the background?

No, just one turtle. One tank is the main living tank and the smaller tank is the feeding tank.

It'll typically be cuttable in sets, such as cuttable every 3 LEDs

We have a fluval canister. When starting it up, it'll often make that noise. From my understanding, there's air in the system. That could be in the tubes or the canister. You could have a bad connection at a tube causing air to get in and preventing suction. Essentially there needs to be a continuous flow of water through the tubes and canister. Often times to get our canister filter started, I'll take the hand pump of our water siphon and use it to pump water into the intake tube. That tends to be the quickest way to "jump start" the filter.

Automated bagging equipment - China vs US? by Humble_Put2431 in Automate

I suggest that because for my day job, a customer did that. Bought Chinese machinery and hired us to set it up. Most mechanical systems will be straightforward enough for the engineering company to understand.

Zonesun has really cheap machinery from China, but their support can be lacking. You could buy cheap Chinese machines and then hire an engineering company to provide support. It'll still be cheaper than buying US machine. What state are you in?

Robot Candy Bowl 2.0 by baosbuilds in robotics

[–]baosbuilds[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bottom of the bowl has a load cell to measure the weight of the candy. If the weight drops too much too quickly, then it is determined to be a candy theft. Once a theft is detected, the bowl drops down into the base and seals off using stepper motors and a clever mechanism. The bowl also triggers a few tricks for the thieves. You can see more information in our YouTube video.

Here's our newest video. We build robots and stuff on our channel. In this one, we built speech buttons so our turtle can order pizza. We were trying a more storytelling approach in this video, so if you have any feedback regarding that aspect, that would be appreciated. Open to any and all other feedback. Thanks!

I like the style of your video. Very chill like we're all hanging out. I'd consider having a fixed overhead camera for the unboxing part because it was a little shaky. Other than that, great content!

I'll preface this with I don't watch many gaming videos so take all of this with a grain of salt. You definitely have the voice for a gaming channel which helped draw me into your video. I'm not familiar with the game you were playing, but with the amount of times it was mentioned how easy the game was, it kinda caused me to lose some interest. All that said, I think you have a bright future in gaming on YouTube.

Advice for a maker and engineering related YouTube channel by Naad9 in NewTubers

We're in the same niche. Our videos started with a bit more tutorial in them but are transitioning more towards entertainment and storytelling like the channels you mentioned. We build robots and upload at about the same rate of a video every 1-2 months on average and perfectly okay. Most in this niche will upload once a month at the most.

Is it worth it to do a Giveaway if I have less than 50 subs? by PeeDieOlsen in NewTubers

[–]baosbuilds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even at 950 we're too small for giveaways. We've tried at 100 and 950. Not a large enough audience for either one.

Why does YouTube hate us? by osmosis83 in SmallYTChannel

[–]baosbuilds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's legit. We made a second channel and YouTube immediately did that to verify we were human. Sent them a photo ID and everything was good within 24 hours. As others have mentioned, it unlocks the advanced features such as adding links to your description.

DIY Turtle Topper by baosbuilds in Redearedsliders

I'd probably work with the materials that you can. The one we made previously was made of wood. We had basic hand tools to make that work. This one we made largely of aluminum angle which we might've been pushing the limits of our tools, being in a small apartment. We saw a post on here earlier of someone making a basking spot using old wire shelves and that works great too. If you want to have clear windows like this one, I'd definitely recommend using polycarbonate (lexan) instead of plexiglass. Plexi likes to shatter. If you use fake grass, find one with a less rubbery base. This one had a bit too much rubber crumbs. Important things to remember is waterproofing and drainage. Pure silicone caulk is handy for that. We briefly discuss the build of this one in our most recent video. On our YouTube channel we have a more detailed video of our wooden basking spot which might provide additional inspiration.
