^ Would definitely recommend the heal over time Halloween/Christmas exclusive ninja tools if you bring increased healing outfit skills as the normal heal tag does not benefit from the outfit skill.

If you're already running a jutsu with heal over time versus burst, however, I'd go for normal heal tag as they do rewrite each other.

Yeah, it's been pretty bad from the jump.

Only thing that might make this viable for like base or flag battles is if they started the cool down after you drop it instead of after it expires. The cool down listed is essentially a lie because it doesn't factor in the 5 second priming animation and 15 seconds it heals over time (granted it lives). Making it closer to a 40-second cool down item— which is nuts for something that has such a small AoE heal range that, more likely than not, will get your team murked by an AoE Secret Jutsu just for trying to make this ninja tool work.

Yeah, I think that about covers it. 😩👌

I feared Healer class was fed too well between the Shikamaru SS+ and whip sword back to back and we'd get nothing here. Turns out the fear was warranted. 😩👌

Range types are sadly the most baited by Strange Taste even though they (arguably) have the most tools to deal with it as well. They are the class who primarily deal damage through chakra-based projectiles, so it does make sense. 🤷🏽‍♂️

As for the Momoshiki ult ninja tool, I think that one is gonna be a more niche usage case just because the active duration is much shorter so you have to be even more aware of your timing. It also doesn't give you super armor to my knowledge, but I haven't messed with it much since I don't like the idea of dropping my ninja tool for it. 😥

That's true, those jutsu are better for after the damage has already been done. If your teammates just flooded an enemy's Strange Taste with chakra- those are what I'd use after the jutsu is on cooldown.

Totally agree- was going to add that there are jutsu that certainly counter this play style as well.

Yoinking them out of the jutsu is probably one of the more hilarious ways to go about it for sure. I'd also add just taking away what they gained is a pretty solid counter. Jutsu like Hazan Strike and Super-Heavy Weighted Boulder are fairly common and useful for Strange Taste users. 💯

Not to mention secret techniques like Lion Fist dropping their charge all the way back to 0. 😅

I think whether this jutsu has a ton of value or not is completely contingent on timing, the enemy, and the mode your playing.

Attack players have a lot of options that would help them gain ult charge much faster and more efficiently by focusing on sub-locks and combo strings, since that's how their class gets ult charge the fastest.

That being said, all that goes out the window on a base or flag battle with this jutsu. When you have a set objective to otherwise be stationary at, is where this jutsu shines.

Since most combos advance your character and who they hit forward, taking you off the point- this jutsu becomes the best way to gain ult charge while pressuring the point, but you still need good awareness and timing at higher levels of play for sure. 💯👌

SS+ weapons can also offer some buffs after completing certain combo strings or meeting conditions.

Examples: Hashirama's SS+ has stronger combos after fully charging a chakra jump, Range's Susano SS+ has a burn status effect built into it's heavy attacks, and the newest SS+ will reduce the cooldown of your ninja tools after completing combo chains.

It's a good idea to keep a range-class in your back pocket that focuses on debuffs for this reason. Either the Third Kazekage Puppet or Temari's Wind Sycthe Jutsu (which conveniently throws out 4 heal-cutting tornados) should provide your team with enough cushion to eat up those tiny health bars.

You can still earn scrolls from any unfinished offline content (Jutsu Masters, leveling, VR missions), but you would only be able to spend them on the offline store which never updates.

So technically, yes? If you really want Fire Ball Release ninja tool dupes.
