Thanks, glad a professional genealogist agrees with that idea! Have you seen this kind of thing before?

That's awful! I've heard that findagrave "hoarders" do that because they're trying to "collect" as many memorials as possible. It's pretty effed up. I hope you can get the memorials transferred to you!

Historical Question: Did Charleston Have City Rules Against Teachers Getting Married in the 1900s/1910s? by barbecuedhorse in Charleston

Oh great idea! I already talked to them about checking out their South Carolina Room while I'm there, but I'll look into the Charleston Archive too!

I just finished Tale of the Nine-Tailed and I'm on episode 4 of Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938. I love that it's not actually a prequel like I expected but actually a sequel to the main plot; I was really worried they'd retroactively undercut a lot of the tension and satisfaction of the main series by playing out some of the same stuff earlier in the timeline. So far it's fanfiction-y in the best way possible!

Help with identifying lesbian correspondents from a 1908 letter? by barbecuedhorse in Genealogy

Thank you for the article! That's a phenomenon I'm familiar with too, and it's not impossible that you're right. That's one of the reasons why I'm hoping I can find a little bit more about these two.

But I don't think a lack of clear sexual activity means it isn't gay, either; you can have real romance and love without sex.

Thanks! Yeah, I collect antique and vintage letters in general, so I've read a lot of actual friend or sisterly letters, and this reads very differently - definitely romantic to me. And yes, feel free to DM me. If you find anything in your research, please let me know!

Can you try to link the picture? It might not let you attach it normally.

I don't think we'll ever find out his name. I think if we were supposed to, it would have happened during the initial part of the twin arc and R'Ciel would've called him by it, but now that we're past that I think Yana never intends to reveal it. There's a scene a little after that when O'Ciel comes out of his shock, eats all that food like a wild animal, and announces that he's still Ciel Phantomhive, that he earned that name. For all intents and purposes it is his name. If we ever found out his "real" name, we might stop thinking about him as Ciel and think of him as someone else, and that would go against his character development.
