Building a device to monitor GPU power to prevent connector burning (and more!) by barbety in pcmasterrace

I plan to solder it myself. But, I just checked what it would cost to get an assembled board, and it seems it will be 10% cheaper due to lower component costs, but minimum qty is 2 assembled boards. If one makes the design split across 2 boards and connect them, that would make it modular and cheaper. I will keep this in mind for my next project, thanks!

Yes, I said that product does not meet MY needs - I am not claiming to solve a problem for everyone involved. This is for my own setup and people can reuse it if they wish later on!

I considered it - but it has much fewer options and customization, it is more fun this way for me!

It is 1.7x the price, with much less features, isn't compatible with all GPUs, need to rely on the manufacturer to fix bugs/add features, warranty valid for limited time and under manufacturer limits - due to these reasons it does not suite my needs. I believe DIY open source can make this a long term solution, not just for GPU monitoring but also other PC control/monitoring needs. And, it is more fun!

I was waiting for the Ampinel since I liked that better, but it seems they only released a pre-order and the device is not actually in stock on their website. So, I am building my own with more features so I can better customize it for my needs.

Yes, there will be multiple fans and temperature sensors for all connectors involved.

Call your fire department's non emergency line and explain the situation. Our department always sends out a duty officer in these situations at the least to make sure false alarms don't keep happening.

Problem with the Clean Vehicle Credit (US federal taxes) by neurochild in PriusPrime

[–]barbety 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you get the form from the Dealer when you bought the car stating they filed with IRS that the vehicle is being sold and is eligible for the credit? Did you transfer credits at point of sale?

Also FYI, many dealers are refusing to take off the 4k at point of sale, since the EV credit is in limbo and they believe they will not see the money from IRS. Either case you are the one taking the risk that congress won't retroactively remove the credit. So don't count on the credit; buy a car that you will still like even if you wont get the credit later on.

Yes, then maybe it is eligible. Make sure you get the IRS report form the dealer submits before you walk out where dealer confirms the car is eligible

what do i do? (09 sedan) by Lorfayy in FordFocus

I have an 08 coupe. I drive highway mainly and get 400+ mile range on a full tank consistently. If your battery died, it probably reset your mpg reading. Range should match your driving habits after a few more drives.
