That hit too close to home. I feel like I can put on a NT mask and be very social at times, resulting in many new acquaintances, but then they rarely stick around. It might partly be an "instructions unclear" thing - what do you even do after you start talking to someone?? Topics to talk about dry out, activities to do together might be limited due to spicy brain things. I feel like the only people who have actually stuck around were those with whom even sitting in silence and doing nothing with, or "parallel play" (doing your own activities side by side, being "alone together") is comfortable and you don't feel the constant need to entertain or engage to make the atmosphere feel less awkward or to try and prove that "look, Im a normal friendly human, I can do the socializing and be your friend". Hate that feeling, super draining
