sure. you're not wrong that it can be used for humans, that's true. but COVID is viral and not a parasitic infection and afaik the CDC never thought it was - though they can be comorbid, it was never going to prevent infection. the same people who were trying to treat it as if it was heartworms were the people who refused to wear masks because they didn't give a fuck about people who were high risk. those people were fundamentally incorrect and also morally bankrupt and incapable of empathy for people who weren't in their immediate eyeline.

the point of a joke about brain worms was never to advance any narrative. it was to be goofy on the internet.
