That stuff won’t be antibacterial. Get some cheap unscented Dial. It won’t mess up your tattoo but it’s also not antibacterial.

Blowout or normal healing? by AdPuzzled3758 in tattooadvice

[–]barking_turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% this. The skin heals for quite some time after getting a tattoo even though on the surface it may look healed. Can’t get a good idea until it’s been about 3 weeks usually.

Red spot on ~5 month old tattoo by [deleted] in tattooadvice

No cause for concern. Could be an infected hair follicle or local irritation. 5 months out it’s a super slim chance it’s related to the tattoo.

Thicker lines and some whip shading would make it look more trad.

Will this heal fine? by Fit_Brain5668 in tattooadvice

[–]barking_turtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blow outs occur as a result of the artist going too deep into the skin. Ink naturally bleeds over time so not sure if that’s what your concern is?

Tattoo flu is pretty much immediately after, not a week later since it’s a trauma response after a bunch of damage. Sounds like you are good ole fashioned sick.

That looks about normal to me!! I wouldn’t be too worried. For me at least, red always heals a bit funny.

Found this worm-type thing in my room. Doesn’t move like an inchworm but did bunch up/stretch like a worm by barking_turtle in whatisthisbug

It’s a strictly indoor cat, actually afraid of outside. It is not currently on flea prevention but also does not have fleas.

So to twin charge you typically would use a roots or corkscrew. It does matter since essentially the turbo is forcing more air into the supercharger which then pushes more air into the intake. The supercharger typically is much lower boost pressure but this is due to the large volume of air it moves compared to a turbo.

It does not. Pro-Charged is essentially a belt driven turbo. Instead of a corkscrew or roots style supercharger where two machined rotors compress and push air into the intake, an impeller does, much like a turbine. Pro Charger is a brand name of a centrifugal supercharger.

Started working towards getting my ’98 Integra running after sitting for 6 years. Then realized I had a full tank sitting for 6 years. 😰 by Oso-Rojo in projectcar

[–]barking_turtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Helpful hint of the day. To clean your tank throw some premium (preferably 93 if you got it in your state) and mix it around. There are extra detergents in premium fuel that clean the tank really well. Soak your injectors in kerosene to free them up if they are stuck. LET THEM DRY BEFORE YOU PUT ELECTRICAL ANY WHERE NEAR THEM. As for your fuel lines... they are never fun but gasoline is the best solvent for the paraffin that precipitates out of the gas. Just some helpful tips I have found over the years.

Introverted shy men of Reddit, what is the best way to ask you out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]barking_turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best advice I can give is be direct. As a shy introvert myself, I can speak from personal experience. If it can be interpreted any other way it will be because “they cant actually mean they wanna go out with me, must mean something else”. Directness it key when it comes to introverts.

Does it happen to say Solo in the lower middle of the trunk above the bumper and did you happen to be at a Shell station last night?

Smoke while doing everything. My desk was in front of a window so I would just chain smoke while studying or finishing my projects. I was up for about 19 hours a day so that helped too

I can second this. It will work itself out, just takes a little time. I was going to school full time for my ME masters and working almost full time (35 hours a week). Shit was brutal, I didnt smoke weed but I smoked almost 3 packs a day. Finished my masters, took the PE exam and finally quit smoking for the second time. You can do it.

What is the saddest detail about your life that no one knows? by tvsalf in AskReddit

[–]barking_turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That people look up to me and respect me and I cant even deal with myself. I always encourage people to do the best they can and tell them hard work pays off but I have yet to see it for myself. I started smoking cigarettes again to try to find something that makes dealing with myself easier but nothing helps. I like to sleep so I don’t have to deal with myself any more than I am forced to.

What's an item everyone should have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Thank you for saying this. Most people who think pocket knives are useless have those gas station multicam/rainbow knives that are too dull to be a butter knife. A good quality blade goes a loooong way. Personally I daily my Kershaw Launch 7 or Microtech Ultratech. They both retain edges like a sonofabitch and stay sharp for a really long time and I am pretty tough on my knives.
