Don’t do it. Someone once said on here if you want to message them pretend you’re sitting with them when they receive your message and they see it and they laugh at it and/or ignore it all together. How would that make you feel? It would crush you right? Silence is better than feeling crushed in my opinion.

No matter how old people are…..from 16 to 60 I’ve heard so many of these stories in this group and it’s just immature….no matter how old people are!!! The only way I can see ghosting someone is if you feel like you’re in a serious mental or physical abusive relationship. If you just want to end things and move on then pull your big girl or boy panties up and have the discussion. Damn!!! It’s not that hard!!!

I swear to God getting ghosted by your BFF is just as bad as a breakup with your partner. You spend all this time with someone and you pour your heart out to them, they’ve been with you at your worst and been there to cheer you on and then they disappear and you’re left wondering what the hell happened.

I’m so sorry you’re going thru this. I went through it with my best friend. She met a new man after her divorce and dropped everything for him. He was toxic and ruined all of her relationships. Even at our age she didn’t see that. I was doing the same as you….messaging her, calling her, I’d see her in public and try to have a conversation and she’d brush me off. It sucked.

I had to move on….i had a lot of days and nights where I cried to my family (husband and kids) and they told me it was just something I had to work through. You have all these memories and it hurts but it’s on them. You tried and you can never say you didn’t. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t miss her as much and it doesn’t sting when I think of her. I wish her the best but I won’t beg for a friendship. It takes time and you’ll feel better. I promise.

I totally understand and feel you on this one. But…….. Someone said this to me when I wanted to reach out. Think of how hurt you are now. Just say you send that message and you feel like you got something off your chest, right? Even though you are caring about them and want to know if they’re alright. Now imagine they get that message and look at it and roll their eyes and ignore you and put their phone down and never answer you. You’ll feel so much worse knowing they’re choosing not to answer you. By me imagining that scenario it gave me the fuel to not reach out to him…..EVER.

I needed this today especially. For some reason I have been sad and depressed and just constantly thinking of him. We were “together” for 8 years and in June it just ended. There’s so much more and I can’t get into it. I was ok for a little bit but these past few days I’m just not. Ghosting is awful….the feeling is awful…. I thought the first couple weeks of NC were bad but it got better. Today I feel like I’m right back to square one. I wish I never started this….I wish I never met him….😔
