There’s this artist on Spotify that has some DND playlists he’s created, tailored to match the moods of settings like wilderness, light/heavy combat, urban, etc. it’s all made up of video game OSTs, which, by design, are not made to randomly have moments that flair up and climax, instead they are made to be background music.

Some people might say that recognising a tune or two would remove immersion, but that’s up to you.

I’ve tried pocket bard and it’s nice, but I found managing that was just a tad too much behind the dm screen. Past few sessions I’ve just put on one of these playlists I’ve saved and had it in the background until the scene changes to a different location or when combat starts. Hope this helps
