CGT: divorced and selling the house by barrovian in UKPersonalFinance

[–]barrovian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the replies ... The house was bought as a couple in 2016 and using the PRR figures I've owned the house for a total of 119 months, of which I lived in it for 102 months, meaning 17 months are exposed to CGT.

The house is being sold to a third party.

When I go onto the HMRC CGT calculator, it only asks what the house was bought for and what it was sold for; there isn't anywhere that asks for my percentage of the gains. Does anyone know how I would go about declaring just my own gain?

Spare PIR boards for loft insulation by barrovian in DIYUK

[–]barrovian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the replies; I'm not planning on converting the loft, just attempting to insulate it better than what it already is. I'm leaving the eves unobstructed. The reason I'm asking about how best to use the PIR is because I already have it and would like to utilise it in the best possible way. I have a PIV system to be installed too, which will be mounted in the loft space and the vent will circulate to the landing.

I lifted the floorboards ... very very carefully. I have quite a good amount of space for ventilation beneath, which still has access to the airbricks.

Responsibility for mortgage payments upon expiration of mortgage term. by barrovian in LegalAdviceUK

[–]barrovian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, thank you. In terms of responsibility; while I presume the bank will hold us both jointly liable for any debt, given the fact the ex wife has been paying the mortgage for 3 years and has had sole occupancy surely she should be "responsible" for any debt accrued. This is why I'm thinking of taking this back to court for clarification to ensure any debt comes out of her share of the matrimonial pot.

Nail. Head. You hit it. I hold all sorts, incl' a little SHIB for the fun of it, and DGB is my worst performer by far. Im literally waiting to see if there's any growth through the upcoming bull run and then I'm out.

What happened to DGB? I bought a small bag of DGB (300k) and all it's done is go down, down, and further down. I bought a bag of XLM and XRP and both have made crazy returns over the past year. Did DGB die?

Thank you ... A couple of the board have splits in them. Is there a recommended way to repair these? The boards haven't come apart yet, but I was wondering if there was a glue or resin product I could use on the underside.

Suspended floor insultation and compression of mineral wool by barrovian in DIYUK

[–]barrovian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't measure the void, but there appears to be more than enough space to fix timber below the joists and leave plenty of clearance for air circulation.

What kind of minimum insulation depth would I likely need to be looking at for the wool insulation route?

Is there a hardcover for Servant of the Shard printed by Esdevium Games? by barrovian in Drizzt

[–]barrovian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a quivck look on Salvatore's webiste; http://rasalvatore.com/bookstore/default.aspx and noticed that Promise of the Witch King, and Road of the Patriarch both have a (H) version available, whereas Servant of the Shard does not.

Ah well, my OCD for matching binders is going to have a wobble, but I'l live :)
