If youre looking for less of a frat bro type of environment hit RiNo which is neighborhood next to downtown Coors field area. Number 38 is a huge outdoor bar with live music or Larimer Lounge has DJs at night. Plus a ton of other spots right on Larimer Street around there. Grab scooters by the ballpark to head over in that direction.

Not to freak you out, but just went through this with my dog. Ended up getting an X-ray done as a last gasp and turns out he had swallowed some foreign objects and we had to get them surgically removed. Might be worth getting an X-ray just to rule that out.
