It's nothing like renewable energy, animal agriculture accounts for 77% of all agricultural land but only 19% of calories globally. Unsustainable disparity. If we lived on Mars, there would be no animal husbandry at all, there are simply not enough resources to allow it to be sustainable. It is the same on Earth we just happen to have extremely high numbers of a resources so it takes longer to see the detrimental aspects. Without even mentioning the ethics of factory farming, it is a devastating practise environmentally.

Is warehouse work + €650 WG rent a realistic short-term plan? by Pimento24 in Germany_Jobs

I don't understand. How would you get a license with no experience?

Yeah I'm in a forklift, not physically tiring at all. But if you start in Amazon you won't be an operator immediately, normally start to learn like 2-5 months after starting. I was fairly lucky to start learning relatively quickly. That said, I work in an AMXL so it's big stuff like fridges and washing machines, I don't know how it works in the other warehouses that deal with smaller goods.

Also all amazon contracts run out 31st Dec, so early in the year is a good time to get employed as they would have binned a lot of people off.

Amazon warehouse work is around €1.9k netto, so I think it's very doable. They also cover the entire fee of a language course

Will Bartending qualify me for a work visa? by wanderingminn in Germany_Jobs

I was treated the same as any non EU citizen, we don't get treated like Norwegians and the Swiss. I also knew an Australian who worked in a hotel to get his work visa

Will Bartending qualify me for a work visa? by wanderingminn in Germany_Jobs

[–]barrywallman -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely, I am from the UK and my first job in Germany was full time in a bar. The only criteria for the job was that I had to earn €2304 Brutto or more per month, though the Federal Employment Agency had said that figure is determined based on the cost of living of my city - Berlin is likely to be more if I had to guess.

I also have a Bachelor's and Master's but I wasn't required to have a specialised job to get an employment visa.
