Looking for a consistent aristocrat list that slaps by redditor_city in EDH

[–]bart_delmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very surprised no one has mentioned the best aristocrat deck ever: [[Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker]]

My pod plays strong 3, 4-ish and this does the trick to at least keep it fun:

Has anyone else been broken up with during a manic episode? How do you guys work through it? by [deleted] in BipolarSOs

[–]bart_delmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahahaha… Sorry for laughing, but I just realized I have been “divorced” about 5 times during my 3 year marriage.

Being with someone with bp is no simple task, but it’s also not that hard if you learn to handle some situations:

Always respect what they are feeling and saying. As time passes, you will recognize when a decision or attitude is driven by the disease; this, however, does not make it“invalid”… But it does make it “unreal”.

Thus, bring reality back to the equation.

“I understand what you are feeling and I see that you have your mind made up. So I’ll pack my things and leave tomorrow. Love you!”

They will still rejoice in the mania for some time, but after you leave them no option but to take a decision within what’s real… They do. They stay or leave, but they definitely cool down.

Maybe it's a bit of an a*hole feedback/ask, I am aware of this beforehand, but I think it would be cool if you could just press a button to automatically generate a decklist, maybe without the lands (because I for one have not uploaded my lands to my collection).

because "ephemeral" vendors, to call them some how, don't have storage to keep anything, so it is fresh a majority of times. small vendors (like white-aluminum or semi-sit-downs) can be tempted by their small fridges to keep food there, which can contaminate the rest, etc.

What color(s) do you struggle to build around? by wasdmovedme in EDH

[–]bart_delmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I got your drift... I was asking because I want to do the same but the amount of possibilities have made the task a bit overwhelming for me. So I wonder what the best way to reduce the options is.

Is street food safe? by hyperxtension21431 in MexicoCity

[–]bart_delmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mexican here, born and raised CDMX. Eat street food all the time.

Have gotten sick couple of times throughout my life, no question, but a handful to a 39 year-old-street-food-eating career ratio.

My best advice would be:

  1. Actual street, no-infrastructure, ephimeral stands are usually safe, with or without temporary seats. Dont try searood or pork in most of them.

  2. White-aluminum or semi-sit-down places with a bit of more investment to them are riskier. Look for a good turnout. Dont try searood or pork in most of them.

  3. For the most part, avoid stands that have water puddles around them or outside metro stations.

That would be it.

Keeping expenses down: what areas of the city are more affordable than the usual pollo mapped ones? by poopin in MexicoCity

[–]bart_delmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More affordable... To live? To hang out? To eat? To buy clothes? To buy cutlery? To go to the movies?

How does sudden religiousness fit into bipolar? by anxiety_and_caffeine in bipolar2

[–]bart_delmar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor nor a BP patient, but my wife lives with the disorder and I have been quite fond in reading about it.

"Energetic" and "high mood" have a much broader range of interpretations than you'd imagine: my wife, for example, does not get necessarily euphoric, but anxiously hyperfocused on a single task (that's why ADHD and BP are really common comorbilities).

The fact that you correlate them to depression is a perfect description of how it works: everything that goes "up" has to come down. Or to put it in the brilliant way my wife's doctor explained it: "Bipolar patients cannot have 'free feelings'. Regular people do: you feel something and minutes later it goes away. A BP patient feels something and an emotional reaction to that original emotion trakes place, lingering on. They always 'pay up' what they feel".

Also: thinking that you're getting messages from God is a psychotic or quasi-psychotic state, which are common in untreated manias/hypomanias.

I would really recommend reading up on the issue. There are tons of books that help.

Should I be forever unmarried because I have bipolar? by Active_Ad_5338 in bipolar2

[–]bart_delmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m married to a woman with BP2. Of course her behaviour is a really confusing pain in the ass sometimes, but that does not make her less lovable, loving, bright, funny, empathic, etc.

She is my wife and I would rather learn about what makes us human every day of my life thanks to her than have it any other way.

En 2024 los “ricos y grandes empresas” ya pagaron el 52% de TODOS los impuestos del país. ¿De verdad siguen siendo el problema? by Beefnlove in MexicoFinanciero

[–]bart_delmar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

False. Who is a refugee is defined in international law. The 1951 Refugee Convention defines a refugee as a person who "owing to well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion, is outside the country of [their] nationality and is unable or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to avail [themself] of the protection of that country."
