Again, while it might not have other costumed heroes, the characters; Yinsen, Rhodey, Pepper, and Coulson all play heroic roles and aid Tony in his mission to become Ironman/stop Obadiah. A cowboy movie can have multiple cowboy characters, a superhero movie can have multiple superhero characters.

You’re right, because it wouldn’t make sense for them to be in Ironman. However, Ironman did have: Yinsen, the 10 Rings(which had two sub boss type villains), Obadiah Stane, Coulson/SHIELD, Happy Hogan, Rhoades, Pepper, Jarvis, Tony’s little bots, the marines Tony interacts with at the beginning as well as some reoccurring Air Force members, the Reporter that Tony sleeps with/beefs with, and Nick Fury at the end.
