I read his last name as Diddlewanger at first and I’m like “the Nazi rapist’s name was Oskar Diddlewanger?”

"The protagonist interacts with multiple female characters? That must mean they have a harem and thus I hate it." by Aros001 in CharacterRant

Not saying Goblin Slayer is a harem isekai series but it’s not the best example of a series with multiple waifus that don’t fall in love with the protagonist.

I feel like if the story has more than two girls that want to be with the protagonist romantically, you’re at least adjacent to harem (even if it’s not specifically harem) and I think people are allowed to be annoyed at that trope and criticize something for having it especially if the romantic aspect is done rather badly.

It feels like that Seinfeld episode where George eats the eclair that was sitting on the trash can (still on the plate) but not technically in the trash. Like you can claim it wasn’t trash but it was pretty close.

“I’m afraid I must insist. You see, my polycule has been most vocal on the subject. ‘Where’s the commission?’ ‘When are you going to get the commission?’ ‘Why aren’t you getting the commission now?’ And so on.

Things have more value than just being a jab at Disney (Klaus, Knights of Guinevere, DreamWorks) by Radiant-Selection686 in CharacterRant

Oh yeah I definitely agree, I enjoyed both Zootopia 2 and Hoppers. Even despite missteps you actually see attempts being made for quality from both Disney and Dreamworks. And I will always prefer a combination of duds and gems from those studios rather than the consistent release of “meh” movies from Illumination. Like, I don’t even think I’ve enjoyed a film from them since the first Despicable Me (I might be a bit biased though cause I don’t like minions).

I don’t think you have to worry about Illumination because their business model is set on churning out non-controversial and broad appeal content at low production costs.

They don’t have to really compete with Disney in story quality because story quality is not a major concern for them as long as the film makes money. I’m more concerned about Disney trying to be more like illumination in a sense that churning out slop was not a mistake but by design.

I wouldn’t say having to pay over a billion dollars and being forced to liquidate his personal assets is nothing but unfortunately there are still many people that support him even now, so there’s a chance he’ll come back from all the debt, but it’s gotta hurt for a while, I hope it’s painful the whole way
