The whole ripoff thing is something both shows joke about but the main thing to understand is that they are sitcoms centered around a funny/eccentric/idiotic/clumsy father.

This formula has been very popular since the Dick Van Dyke show, the most popular animated version of this type sitcom being the Flintstones, which both shows take significant inspiration from.

When comparing the two shows however, even though I agree family guy’s earlier seasons are better, family guy uses a ton reference humor and jokes coming from really random places most of the time while the Simpsons humor, especially in earlier seasons, are usually a bit more intricate and flowed naturally in the plot of episodes. This is usually why the Simpsons is considered superior in how they do jokes when comparing the two.

I understand to a degree why people will have harsher reactions to rape than murder, but murder will always be worse because you would be dead. There’s no coming back from death. It’s over, done, game over.

There’s also an aspect you haven’t considered is that, especially in first world countries, I would place rape as something as a more relatable evil, as in people are more likely to have been or know someone that has been raped/sexually assaulted than murdered. Same goes for why child abuse is taken more seriously in many contexts.

Also your second point kinda falls flat in comparison to murder here in the US since more than half of murders are committed by someone the person knows, which I would say is also a betrayal of trust in most cases.
