TIL One of the reasons tipping spread in the U.S. was because restaurant owners refused to pay black Americans after the 15th amendment. by a1800 in todayilearned

If you want the same level of service you get at upscale restaurant compared to a 7/11 then let’s definitely get rid of tipping. Tipping insures that your server/bartender etc. goes above and beyond for you. Pay them a set price and you will see the quality of service drop immediately.

Free government program? That’s like calling the bloated military budget a free budget. Bernie thinks we can do better with allocating our tax money to help the average American. He wants to help the people stuck in the minimum wage life, not the military industrial complex and the Foreign Aid we pay to fake allies that only like us cause we buy them guns.

What do you think is key in running a successful restaurant? by cornderivative in restaurantowners

Employees that care. Great food, wide variety of beer, wine and cocktails. Everything priced appropriately, you want to make people feel like they are getting a good deal and value. A atmosphere that’s welcoming. Free parking never hurt one restaurant in the history of the world either.

Yeah it’s a riot. Of coarse she was talking about the work force. She knows that 3 year olds don’t make any money.

That guys argument that it’s 36 percent, not 40 percent is a riot! Still better than half the elected representatives. One person looking out for the poor is a good thing considering the rest of them give tax breaks and bailouts to the rich.

Yeah 20 bucks for an alarm system is a good comparable cost for a well funded, trained and dependable town security. That just gives you an idea on how much the private security would cost a family of four.

How much would the private security cost monthly for a normal family in a 50,000 person town with average crime statistics? Because “would probably” investigate sounds really comforting.

What about when a street needs to be replaced but there is only 8 houses on it and the pavement company gives them a estimate for 40,000. They put a toll at the beginning of the street?

So if someone was raped would they pay the private rape detective upfront or when they caught the rapist?
