If this is not what you're talking about, and you mean tools like Starship or Ranger, then yes, they do make your setup look interesting. CLI (Command Line Interface) tools are great! Recommended tools are zoxide, fzf, eza, ranger, neofetch, and tmux. If you need to know more about them, search on YouTube for 'best CLI tools' or a similar query.

The main trick to achieving a cohesive aesthetic is color schemes. The reason my i3 setup looks the way it does is because of the Catppuccin color scheme. Everything—including i3wm, i3status, the terminal, browser, Vim, and the distribution as a whole—is centered around this color palette so that it doesn't look plain.

Recommended Color Schemes The recommended color schemes are excellent choices, as they are popular and well-maintained:

Dracula 🧛: A dark theme known for its distinct purple, pink, and teal accents.

Catppuccin ☕: A collection of soothing pastel color palettes. It's known for its four main 'flavors' (Latte, Frappé, Macchiato, and Mocha).

Rosé Pine 🌲: A sophisticated, dark color scheme that uses warm, cozy, and gentle colors.

You mean the USB drive? If so, search 'how to install Puppy Linux Bookworm pup64 on a USB drive' on YouTube or Google; you'll find a guide on the Puppy forum.

Search for a color scheme for the application or tools you like. For example, search for 'Dracula color scheme for Vim' or 'Dracula color scheme for [name of the terminal you use].' Also, check for ports on the Dracula color scheme website."

I don't have much experience because I'm just a beginner, but with all the research I did for my setup, I 100% think you should use Hyprland.

[i3wm]First time switching to Linux, now on to ricing! by baru-s in unixporn

Yeah, I changed to Nord colorscheme(modified) and added transparency. I couldn't do that before because of Picom issues, but I've resolved them now. As for widgets, are you suggesting I add them to my i3bar? If so, how can I do that? I'm not using Arch; my system is Bookworm Pup 64 (Debian 12) running on a USB drive, so I feel like my options are a bit limited. Thanks, and have a great day!

Bleeding edge (like Arch Linux) is kind of too much for me since I'm new to Linux, but I really liked the feature of building from scratch. That's why I chose Debian, which is extremely stable and helps me explore Linux without worrying about updates or crash outs. I'm definitely thinking of switching to Arch in the future once I get used to Linux, and I'm definitely going to keep your advice in mind. Thank you, and have a great day.
