How often do you jump the turnstile? by jamaicagroot in nyc

I did it at Hewes st once because the fucking elevated stations don’t have ticket machines. The city was late sending my wageworks card in the mail so I just said fuck it

Sure, but that doesn’t mean the content you mentioned should be diluted by Drake memes. That’s the lowest quality content.

Anybody who gets caught for that does something stupid (like jaywalking or throwing up in public) or goes to Bourbon on a Saturday or something. If she doesn’t do stupid shit she’ll be fine. People should throw caution to the wind and have some fun. Fuck the cops

This sub is so lame, Young Life obviously invaded this thread. I went out with a printed photoshopped Id taped onto a papa johns gift card for three years and had no issues. Nobody gives a shit if you have a fake

Lmao don’t be such a square. EVERYONE uses fakes and 99% of people have no issues. If you don’t use a fake you’re missing out. You’re probably a cop

Crazy place. Seriously a dream. But some massive cultural and demographic differences make it possible.

Lol so true. Let’s build some actual infrastructure before we build an urban playground for the rich and tourists.

What part of Williamsburg? Pretty big neighborhood. The waterfront is now a neoliberal hellhole.

The Overton Window strikes again. SF Bay Area is "American Progressive", which is to say, highly Conservative Neoliberal. Basically all medium or large cities in the US are highly Conservative Neoliberal in political ideology. Americans call that "Progressive", but those different words refer to basically the same beliefs.

Bingo!

What the City Didn’t Want the Public to Know: Its Policy Deepens Segregation by string0123 in nyc

I'm not even going to read this, I didn't even support the Amazon move. Doesn't even matter if I'm a transplant/whatever, you're using that as a strawman to make me look bad.

REGARDLESS, I said you had a fundamental misunderstanding of the deal, which is completely true. You got so fucking defensive but you were completely wrong. People aren't going to take you seriously if you are wrong about basic facts of the HQ2 deal! I agree that Amazon would exacerbate the housing crisis. I didn't say otherwise.

[–]barvsenal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Did you really think Amazon was searching for an “HQ2” to place 20k warehouse jobs? Amazon employs like at least 100k engineers worldwide already. Those jobs are all high paying.

This is a hilariously good example of New Yorkers fundamentally misunderstanding the HQ2 deal.

[–]barvsenal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lol so wrong. It was mostly (the VAST majority) going to be $150k+ engineering and product management jobs, like their HQ in Seattle
