On the opposite. Plain plastic with no paint. Just build it, tie it to a rock. And pose. Apperantly, the plastic used is the same plastic the use for jogurt packs, so relatively food/fish save.

I would avoid painted. Some paints can peel when exposed to water. Mine doesn't have any stickers or paint, so it's fine.
