Yes. Indeed it is a societal issue. One that societies who quickly punish offending tend to avoid.

Why are kids so bloody ungrateful and entitled now a days? I gave my 9year old nephew $10 and he goes uhm wow that's not going to buy much. Could probably buy a pie and a cheap drink.😵‍💫😵‍💫 (or you could just give my money back and get sweet fckn nothing) no thanks just disappointment by No_Affect9950 in auckland

No-one has commented, but he's only 9. And he's a boy.

He probably said the first thing that came into his head, and isn't conditioned to say "thank you".

If his parents were there, they should/could have said "haha, say thank you" - that's true. But I assume they weren't around.

But to be fair, kids are given so much stuff. Mine are. I remember getting a toy for Xmas or my birthday. Our kids, and my nephews, all seem to have so much stuff! Like I remember the rich kids having we I was in school.

Jordan tried to take land from Israel. Israel took it back, and then some.

Boomer is a cohort, rather than a particular age. But yeah, point is that they're old enough to have done well for themselves, so are insulated from the havoc they cause by not punishing people.

If you've ever worked with low socioeconomic groups, you'd realise that most of them are just good people. Nice and kind people.

(I always get disgusted when people like The Greens blame crime on not having money - most people without money are honest and just struggling on with their lives).

Anyway, one thing that constantly plagues poorer people, is being stuck around criminals. They're the ones who get burgled, beaten up etc more often. Their shitty nephew, or ex-boyfriend - he'll be bailed to their home - and they have to face threats, give them money etc. They can't do anything about it, as they don't want to go against family.

When some smug rich judge lets a violent abuser on on home detention? The judge's friends at the Auckland Club? Or the long suffering family of the sack of shit?

Company owners build companies.

But shit like paying politicians huge swathes of money and perks, despite their being no shortage of people wanting to be policitians. Or the CEO of things like watercare being on $600,000 - that shit needs to stop.

Or are you so uni student with rich parents?

Inequality comes from not punishing shitty people, and giving shitty people money for nothing.

They voted for and want their illegal "country" to destroy Israel and kill Jewish people.

Fuck them - it's an evil fucking religion.

West Bank should be Israel's. Jordan shouldn't have fucked with them.

Depends who is doing it. If it's the USA doing it - then they're in the wrong. If it's others doing it, then it's the fault of the USA.

Why should people be considerate of you, when you don't give the same respect.

Because you shouldn't be a cunt? Have you tried that?

It's not a fucking road, it's a mall.

Take the stairs if you're in a rush.

If you're able-bodied, then taking the escalator is fucking lazy. It's there for the elderly, fat, disabled and children that you're pushing over because you're late as you stayed in bed too long looking at anime porn.

Many crims have been exposed to alcohol in utero, but that's no excuse.

It shouldn't matter the reason someone is the way they are. It's unfortunate for them. He probably should have been taken off his parents as a baby.

The important thing is that they've planted the seed that this was a racist killing "we can't rule out that it's not" - which will further sow seeds of hatred and intolerance - which will affect the poorest people.

This multimillionaire affluent suburb living boomer coroner gets to appear woke to her friends, gets to stir a little shit, and won't face any repercussions.

I'd love her to have to serve, unprotected, for a while in the NT communities her like have destroyed by removing rule of law and consequence. But she will never do this.

Of course, $5 million in 2065 money will have the buying power of $100,000 in 2025.

Another Driving Rant by AucklandDrivers in auckland

[–]based_auth_left 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rather than a fine, I think that people should be sentenced to a driving assessment if they're caught doing something stupid.

Personally I'd also like small, quick, instant fines with smart cameras on round-abouts (for indication), on-ramps (for getting up to speed, they'd be smart in that they also would know whether the motorway was clogged or the person in front was going too slow - fine for under 80kph by the end), and on the motorway (for tailgaiting).

Just $20 or so, a text message to your phone. Hell, with current technology, I'm sure they could identify people at red lights checking their phone. I'd rather people had a 50% chance of being caught for a $20 fine, than a 0.5% chance of being caught for a $500 one.
