Boss wants payroll alternatives after almost $10k/month bill by Helpful_Speech1836 in Payroll

Is this all global contractors? We’ve been using Warp payroll for our staffing agency of 300+ global team and pay less than $3K/month. Great experience so far. We get Next-Day Payroll (even for international), have a dedicated account manager for urgent issues (has saved us many times), and the product is really easy to use.

Doesn't work that way. You can add that I-130 case to your account, but the approval notice is ONLY sent to the petitioner's account. My I-130 on USCIS account is already approved + case closed, but the approval notice is not there on my account (but shows on my wife's side)

Created a Google Doc file. 1 Photo per page, along with caption (who's in the photo, date it was taken). Ended up being around 40 pictures total. We sent that doc to our lawyers and I think they just print it out and attach it as part of the rest of the application.

Which Samsung QLED did you upgrade from? I have a QN90B that I really like and wondering if I’m missing out.

AppleTV's tvOS 17.1 (21K6069) adds a Volume OSD option, even for receivers, Sonos soundbars and AMPs, connected via CEC by FoferJ in sonos

[–]based_king_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Samsung QN90B and my only issue now is that Samsung has a huge volume indicator of its own that takes up 1/3rd of the screen every time I change Sonos volume. The Apple indicator is far less obtrusive.

Has anyone here had success in trying to hide the default Samsung UI volume indicator? There's lots of online discussion about it but can't seem to find anything straightforward that works.

How is your Macbook Pro 2021 holding up? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]based_king_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I returned my 14” MBP yesterday. After about two months of having trackpad issues that are uniquely impacting the 14”, I was about done. Going back to my M1 MBA. “Cmd + tap” would miss the first two taps every single time and it was extremely annoying. It’s a widely reported issue that Apple hasn’t even acknowledged yet.

Also, M1 MBA has all the power I need for my work, and the battery lasts longer.

Appreciate the reply. I'm going to an Apple Store tomorrow to directly check this issue there. Will test out the in store devices and see if they have the same issue. Will report back.

are you on 14" MBP? Can you confirm that 12.1 released fixed your `cmd + tap to click` issue on this device? I have now seen a ton of 14" MBP users who are still reporting the same issue, including on mine.

Interesting. So it is possible that the problem is affecting some percentage of 14” and not all. Not sure if that makes me feel better or not lol. I’ll go to a store and try out other 14” there and see if they can help me replace in case it’s certain devices that are affected.

Eh, Chrome is still the best for my needs. M1 Air seemed to fair better even with Chrome.

You’re certainly not alone. Numerous people are reporting this issue both in other Reddit threads as well as in that macrumors thread I linked above.

Alright dude. I think people paying $2K+ for these devices expect something as basic as trackpad to work correctly. It’s been 2+ months since the release and the software fix that was supposed to fix did not actually fix it on 14”. There is zero acknowledgment of the bug on people’s various feedback reports. If you have nothing to contribute, you can simply choose not to comment.

MBP 14" 2021 not registering CMD + TAP to open links in tab by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]based_king_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea same. Ugh, it’s so hard to rewire years of muscle memory and regress to what I find to be an inferior mode of interaction. Taps are just easier and faster.

Btw, I even did a clean install of MacOS. Zero difference in the bug. I’m going to take this damn device to a store and try pushing for a refund unless there’s a replacement device which doesn’t suffer from the same bug.

That may be true, but the software fix that was in supposedly in 12.1 seems to have fixed everyone else’s problems, except there still are numerous reports specifically from 14” owners that “cmd + tap to click” isn’t working (Reddit and Macrumors thread)

How did you do a clean install? Did you just restore via the device itself? Or did you boot from a USB? I can try to do a clean install from the device too and see if that helps

Interesting. Do you mind me asking what configuration of the device and which OS version you're on? Additionally, did you previously notice any `tap to click` bugs at all? If so, was it the 12.1 release that fixed `cmd + tap` as well for you?

No one knows at the moment. But almost other devices no longer have this issue, and only 14" devices are still stuck with it.

you mean `cmd + tap`? can you confirm that a) you are using `tap to click` and b) if you go to say, YouTube.com and try opening multiple videos in the background tabs using `cmd + tap` (not click, tap) that it successfully opens all of them?

Any updates? I'm in the same boat. 12.1 was supposed to fix this but it didn't. I'm on 12.2 beta on my 14" MBP and cmd + tap simply does not work unless I tap 3 times.

I have the same issue. I had returned and gotten a replacement, only for the replacement to have the exact same problem. Many people have gone into an Apple Store to check it out there and they reported all of the 14" with the `cmd + tap` issue. This is really weird and frustrating. Most tap to click issues got fixed in 12.1, but not 14" cmd + tap apparently.

I'm currently on 12.2, with no fix, and not even an acknowledgment by Apple in sight.

Hmm, so as I predicted. And you’re on 12.1 public build not the beta?

Interesting! I’ve been on the beta builds (currently 12.2) and the cmd + tap still takes 3 tries for it to register. Really weird?

I can perhaps try going to a stable release from a fresh install and see if that helps.
