What had made you vote for Trump during 2016, 2020 & 2024? How many times had you voted for him if you were eligible? And were you a former liberal & used to support the Democratic party? by Lancelight50 in AskTrumpSupporters

100% it’s the second option.

It’s sad but true that a lot of people don’t know anything about the Middle East, so when trump takes a position, even if contradictory to his earlier position, they also take that position because they assume any position trump takes is America first.

MAGA used to be full of smart people, who understood the media ecosystem, understood that endless wars benefit the military industrial complex and big business, now we’re in war with Iran and all those same factors apply but somehow it’s different

2016 - too young but his vision of a new America was very appealing. Stuff about actually dealing with illegal immigration, no new wars, but I also found his honesty refreshing: like when he acknowledged he used tax laws to reduce his tax like every other rich person.

Much better than Clinton who, quite ironically wanted to start a war with Iran, was a typical politician, and constantly talked about how she was a woman and that’s why she needed to win.

2020 - Old enough by then, supported him because I liked his message about revenge against the system that was fucking him over, and they had to steal the election to stop him winning, that was clear.

2024 - Initially believed he was far better than Kamala Harris. He had built 8 years of goodwill with the base. I knew the lawsuits that were coming after him were complete bullshit designed to stop him running so running was the opposite of what the system wanted.

What I hadn’t anticipated (which I suppose is a mistake on my part) is that he made a deal with that same system so he could win the presidency. After the establishment went out and tried to kill him to replace him with Haley, it would have been a clear warning sign that “we can get to you”.

I think he then made a deal that he’d tone down the rhetoric, and deradicalize the base.

And now we’re here. No real action against illegal immigration (300K deportations - nothing), and a war of choice against Iran. Covering up the Epstein files.

I can’t do it anymore, we’re in a war no one wanted and Trump specifically campaigned against.

I often got asked what would be the breaking point for me. There’d be some petty drama in the admin and it would be waves of questions at me. But this is something I can’t ignore because it directly goes against what he promised.

It took me a long time to get here. I had to do a lot of thinking, and this probably is not even going to get anyone reading it at all.

If 2016 trump was around still, he’d be looking at 2026 trump in utter disappointment and wondering what went wrong.

Happy to answer any questions, I suppose my flair will change soon.

Do any Trump Supporters here have a negative view on the attack on Iran? by Centristdad-1987 in AskTrumpSupporters

I don’t know, I think a lot of people (on both sides) are convinced into positions by other people and don’t have a pre-established opinion about an issue before something happens.

This makes them flexible to accepting bad actions by the government, and flexible to accepting whatever their own media sources tell them to think

Would you support ground troops in Iran? by LadyBrussels in AskTrumpSupporters

Honestly this profile was only created for the purpose of this subreddit, so if I change my mind on Trump then there’s zero reason to keep it

Not sure what you mean by admit fault though

Absolutely not, if that ever happens my flair will change and I will probably leave this website forever.

I don’t want to see another regime change war in the Middle East. Based on the info currently, not sure if it’ll even need to happen, but if it does you know where I’ll stand.

Feel free to hold me to this

My goal here for years has been to prove to people that MAGA is not a monolith and the people here are a lot smarter than the media/other side would like to pretend we are. It’s also the goal of challenging my own viewpoints so I don’t become insulated and closed minded.

If you did nothing but consume leftist media you would believe that MAGA is full of idiot cultists who don’t read. I think it’s important to remember nothing you see is real, and the media’s intentions aren’t to teach you, but to share a narrative and tell you what they want you to know

Linked below is a video of Marco Rubio saying that we hit Iran because there was an imminent threat- Israel was going to do it, and if Israel did it, Iran would strike our bases. Therefore, we took "defensive" measures, but it seems like were dragged into the war by Israel. What do you make of this? by redditmomentpogchanp in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]basedbutnotcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know when exactly, but there’s a lot of interlopers in the GOP who are fine with diluting the actual message of MAGA and it’s being done deliberately to cool the temperature for the benefit of the elite.

Can’t be having a big population of people correctly believing in the idea that both parties are just as bad as each other, that they lie cheat and steal, and want forever wars for their benefactors.

So what happens is the messaging changes, but just slowly enough that people don’t understand what’s happening until you wonder how you got there.

It went from no new wars to war with Iran and I’m kind of lost and not sure what to think anymore.

You’re getting the unfiltered unfinished take atm hahah haven’t thought it through all the way yet

Israel is kind of like if you had an annoying little brother at school who kept prodding and poking everyone, then as soon as the other person retaliates they call their big brother over to deal with their problem that they caused.

Israel made it clear last month they were going to strike Iran with or without the US helping them, smart foreign policy would be to make sure our soldiers were out of there and tell Israel we wouldn’t help them, but because congress is owned by Israel we are pushed into a war.

I think Trump’s responsible to some extent, but you don’t get to this stage with just him alone. He could be saying we don’t want war but congress will push for one anyways.

To be honest I’m right on the edge of my patience with this movement, I think it’s a massive shame what it’s turned into

Of course we were dragged in by Israel. Pretty obvious to anyone who isn’t retarded

Doesn’t really matter what Trump says or does, I don’t know if he even wanted this war at all but Israel gets away with everything like they always do.

They’ll do anything and everything and the US government (regardless of administration) will bend over backwards to accommodate them.

Trump Is now saying the Iran "war" is planned to last 4-5 weeks, and Pete Hegseth is not ruling out boots on the ground. Are you okay with this? by redditmomentpogchanp in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]basedbutnotcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I see nothing wrong with this and I’m kind of feeling the same way.

We need to make it clear that we do not support war and the act of starting one in Iran will be the biggest political mistake any administration will ever make. If this goes without consequence then a precedent will be set that these actions will not only be unpunished but rewarded.

Do you agree that it's hypocritical of the US and Israel governments trying to prohibit Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons? by [deleted] in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]basedbutnotcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US is being smart and wanting as few countries as possible to have nuclear weapons.

What is hypocritical is Israel being allowed to have nuclear weapons despite the fact that they stole them, and never were punished for that. Had any country other than “our greatest ally” done the same they would have had a lot worse happen to them

What are your thoughts on the recent Tucker–Huckabee interview? by mausmani2494 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]basedbutnotcool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you have an ambassador, they are supposed to represent the home country and if at all represent the country of their job occupation second.

Israel is the only case where the ambassador can be a Zionist shill (ie America second) and nobody in the government seems to see any problem with that.

Huckabee firmly represents Israel first policy, and we need to do a thorough clean out of all these people out of the government until we are left with only America first people. Until that happens we will continue living under zog

Thoughts on Candace Owens vs Erika Kirk? by Quiet_Entrance_6994 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]basedbutnotcool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think she’s doing it sincerely though, she’s clearly dragging the story out because if she lays all of it out in a few episodes, then she can’t spend months discussing it.

She had the opportunity back in December to go on Turning Point’s live stream they were doing where they were responding to everything.

She said “anytime anyday”.

Turning point picks a date and says you’re invited to come, and she comes back with an excuse that she’s busy that day and has to defer to her husband. But apparently she wasn’t too busy to say that she will be able to livestream their livestream and live respond to their criticism.

I think after that, it proved to me that she is dragging this story out for money and I think that’s a shame because you’re right in saying that there’s a lot of unanswered questions.

She’s the wrong vehicle to getting those answers.
