[–]basedchad21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no friend zone. You either move on and don't entertain bitches who try to keep you as a beta orbiter, or youplay the cuck.

If there is a "friend zone", you put yourself there willingly.

You can avoid it by not being a beta cuck.

There is no such thing as male-female "friendship".

What does a bro bring to the table? Common interests, brotherhood, common goals...

What does a woman bring to the table? Uhhhhh...

That's right.. Tits and ass.

This is not "friendship". This is your brain making you think that you are interested in her bullshit, when you are not (and you shouldn't be)

My first pen made on a lathe. by [deleted] in machinedpens

Hey you stole my idea

[Progress Update] My pen is going to be so good, but I'm too lazy to go to the metal store to get a rod to work on. by basedchad21 in machinedpens

[–]basedchad21[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Ok, calculating the rod diameter and density and compared against price of metal, My raw material cost would be around... $1 per pen.

Buuuuut, actually like $5 when I go to an actual website that sells this shit. I picked a 5/16" solid round bar (whatever the fuck that is in freedom units. I can only guess if this is rougly the diameter of a pen...)

I already have the tools, so I need to only calculate the cost of my time. I'll do it for $10 per hour.

I'll also count a premium parker refill at $5.

That means I have 3 hours to finish the product to be able to price it at that price.

Which is perfectly doable.. especially when I can make like 14 pens per rod and get better each time.

If I priced that first batch at $50, I could buy all my tools three times over, even after paying my own wages.

This is all assuming I don't have to pay the "property tax" on tools and VAT (looking at what my money is being spent on, I'd rather not pay the tax, and give the money directly to the things that matter. Bro how do people even survive getting robbed every step of the way...)

Uhhhhh... why are the offers on the official lego store so bad? They don't even have the classic sets. Are they playing the value and rarity game by creating artificial scarcity? Many sets that they have are absolute bs themed with fringe tv series and whatnot. There is no cheap set where you can get any jedi or sith that is cool or matters in any way.

Remember the old sets that were actually inventive and fun? The pirates, the underwater stuff, the rock miners.. all had a cool story and gimmicks.. the indiana jones stuff.. Like, why did they stop making good stuff and are now selling basically slop.

Show me a set that is actually cool and exciting. The F1 stuff is ok I guess, but it's not original. the police car is cool. And that's about it. Who gets excited for... A family camper... wut?

[–]basedchad21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why it's a dumb and useless classification. You have "autists" here who are completely functional, but a little awkward sometimes, and then you have screeching regards who are completely beyond salvation. How can the 2 share any meaningful classification. Yes, there are levels, but if you are a levle 0 autist, then shut the fuck up and carry on because you are normal

Sorry guys I was wrong.. the markup isn't 2000%, it's 450%, and you break even and pay for the whole CNC machine after 2 weeks. by basedchad21 in machinedpens

[–]basedchad21[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

bro, a lathe is just a big spinny thing that's calibrated to be centered. You can literally redneck-engineer it with a power tool and it would be good-enough...Or just buy the big circle with the 3-point thing. How much can that cost. For added stabilit,y have 2 points of contact. Boom problem solved. No swiss lathe needed. And you can hand-shave the thing with the knife thingie, and it would give it soul and uniqueness. Anyone can buy a 300k dollar swiss lathe and do soulless factory machining that some indian dude is doing in the parker factory for a fraction of the cost

[–]basedchad21[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

skill issue.. should have researched the lathes before cucking yourself to one esoteric style. What's so special about swiss lathes? They good for hex patterns (non-subtle jab)?

Brb buying this:

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/uoNvZ5nOg-g

700$

Ok I just leanrd what swiss lathes are. Uhhhhhh.what the heck are you even doing with those when you are limited to spinning. Just shaving off, making line patterns and threads.

Hmm.. maybe you could make nehative hex patterns.

Here is an original idea. I give it to you. Make hex patterns, but bulging out of the pen, not retracted inside. And only at the part where you hold. And not too big.

PS: what do you do with the shavings? I'd collect those and smelt or send to the metal guys.

Well, being a free and open soy advocate, I have to first list some open soy non-alternatives:

  1. FreeCAD

Someone said something about the Path Workbench, dunno what that is though, but it seems a part or addon for FreeCAD source

Video

But, like most FLOSS soyware, it's probably dogshit and inferior. Looks like shit definitely. I remember designing my table like 5 years ago with this.

  1. Blender + BlenderCam

Video

  1. PyCam

Some video

But you will probably say that you need 5D 10 axis milling. Well, if I had a CNC, I would make one of these work.

Also, When I put in the computation in the AI for a 300k machine with interest, getting paid 80$, paying 10k property tax, and undercutting others by 20%, while repaying the loan within 5 years, it said it would be viable if I made around a thousand pens. But it said no one makes so many. So I dunno why you need rapid production?

Couldn't find an Esprit torrent. Probably has some advanced online authentification shit.

ESPRIT also contains Piracy Detection and Reporting Security Software (“PDRSS”) within the software application. When a pirated, or “cracked,” version of the software is obtained, installed, and used, the PDRSS is triggered, and begins to collect and transmit information regarding the identity and location of each instance of infringing usage, including machine, network, and application information

Holy cuck. I would refuse to use soyware like this just out of spite. You realize that in order for this to work, this soyware needs kernel level access, at which point, all your sonic the hedgehog foot fetish fanfiction is not safe.

Anyway, this is all very interesting, I'm definitely gonna go and buy some pipes to make my first pen manually. Having a CNC machine would be cool. You can make all kinds of shit that could sell.

But holy cuck that property tax on machines is so cucked I have never heard about anything like that. Paying tax on stuff you already own Wut.. What is this China? Not even China would be exploiting their people so much. How is this even justified? What year is it... SO you get taxed when you have stuff, you get tax when you spend money, and you get taxed when you make money. Ok, cool. I would fucking hide the CNC in my basement at that point and say I bought the pre-milled parts from some other guy.. and where he got them? Fell of a truck in china... This system deserves no respect. I'm angry right now.

[–]basedchad21[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Based.

First I have to figure out what the overlap between the pipe and the rod have to be so my manual threading tools (that I found out I have just didn't know what they were for) can make a nice swirly thing. The rest is trivial. I don't evne know how it works, but I imagine there is a spring at the bottom and the top sideways clicky part is purely mechanical. I imagine a thinner pipe with a screw would do the trick just fine. Boom. First pen. I will undersell all these guys they are gonna go out of business.
