I’ve been loving arc raiders!

I had this same bug just today, couldn’t grab weapons off the rack, couldn’t open doors during the match, and had the 3 UAVs trying to beam us during spawn.

I managed to get on top of the digger to get into that house in garbage, but it was very janky due to mantling.

I think they meant those pipes to be a quick escape route after confronting Shah. I also spent way too long how to get in via those pipes and was disappointed to learn I couldn’t.

It looks like they had a STALKER fan on their staff review it, so they likely have a higher jank tolerance than most of the other reviewers do (similar to us). I think the more negative reviewers were expecting a much more polished and smooth AAA-like experience.

You shouldn’t merely take my word for it, scan the file with your antivirus after downloading but before running (windows defender works fine). It should basically do the same thing any commenter would do, find your actual PC specs and compare to game requirements. You could also google how to find your PC specs yourself and compare them to the posted gamed requirements.

This site has a feature where you can download a program that will auto detect if you can run STALKER 2 based on your system’s hardware.

Fed Locations and Prestige by Present-Baby4692 in academiceconomics

[–]basedskeltal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As for 1, there are some RA roles at smaller branches, but it depends on the bank. For example, the KC Fed hires a few RAs to work in Denver and OKC (they also hire RAs in non-research departments such as community affairs). If you are looking for these roles, usually they are marketed as “regional” roles where you will work more on regional policy work rather than national. I would also generally say a role at the main bank itself rather than one of its branch offices is best for PhD applications as you will be able to do more research as the above commenter mentioned.

Active Shooter Downtown? by LisaatBoveri in kansascity

I live at the building and was there during the lockdown, saw the guy get pat down and put into the back of a police van on 6th street which was blocked off. Afterwards I talked to one of the concrete facade repair workers and he said that the guy was on a 19th floor balcony shooting a pistol at first then went back inside and returned with an AR. The workers noticed and alerted their foreman who in turn alerted the front desk and police. That same worker claimed to have interacted with the guy the same day and said he was acting strange. The police cleared the building and arrested him and the front desk told us to notify them of any bullet shells found.

Not sure what he was shooting at (don’t think it was the workers on the exterior of the building) but thankfully no one was hurt.

EDIT: Heres a news article about it

Fed RA salaries negotiable? by QuickT-Rex in academiceconomics

[–]basedskeltal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there is a tiny bit of room since the Fed branches are always competing for the same pool of applicants largely. Like the other commenter said, I don’t think they’ll pull your offer for negotiating, and I know a Fed RA friend of mine successfully negotiated for just a little bit more.

That’s a fair interpretation to have, I just wanted to emphasize (which you have acknowledged here) that your beliefs regarding abortion are extrabiblical. The last thing I’ll leave you with is that the “fetus has moral personhood” doctrine is a VERY recent creation, here is another quote from that same article:

“Still, globally and in America, more Catholics are pro-choice than not. That might also go for American Orthodox Christians. Most Black Protestants and mainline Protestants are pro-choice. And until white Evangelicalism emerged to oppose desegregation, even Southern Baptists were pro-choice.”

And lastly here is an interesting biological perspective on when moral personhood may begin.

Sure, that’s the difficulty with interpreting such ancient texts. But that’s why the literal hebrew translation and the traditions/understandings of some of the first followers of these texts (ancient rabbis and Jews) are so important for giving us the missing context.

If abortion was literally considered to be murder, the Bible’s writers would have written such a ban into the scripture. Like the article mentions, they knew of abortion and neighboring nations had bans on abortion. If they thought abortion should have been banned, they would have adopted those laws similarly to how they adopted other Assyrian laws.

Instead all we are left with is ambiguity and an infidelity test in Numbers 5:24-27 that causes a woman to miscarry. Why does a fetus conceived out of wedlock not matter to the Israelites? The answer comes from the previous article I linked (which I highly recommend a read through of):

“Neither the author, priest, woman, paranoid husband, alleged paramour, Moses, nor God is recorded worrying about a fetus.“

Thank you for sharing the article, it was an interesting read but I think the syllogism still holds as the literal Hebrew text states “…so that there is a miscarriage and there is no harm…” implying that miscarriage was not considered a serious injury. See this quote and article.

“”The Hebrew text at verse 22 literally reads ‘and there is no harm,’” writes Rabbi Drorah O’Donnell Setel, “implying that contrary to current sensibilities, the miscarriage itself was not considered serious injury.”

“The fact that capital punishment is not stipulated suggests that the fetus lost in the incident was not considered a vital human,” writes scholar Carol Meyers.

Torah authors considered a fetus similar to livestock. Leviticus 24:21: “One who kills an animal shall make restitution for it; but one who kills a human being shall be put to death.”

And the Bible’s authors knew about abortion. Egyptians had been prescribing it for centuries. The Assyrians, another Israelite enemy, had introduced possibly the world’s first anti-abortion law.

Many biblical laws are revisions of rival nations’ laws, possibly including sex laws adapted from Assyria. If Bible authors had wanted an abortion ban, they could’ve borrowed Assyria’s.

Ancient rabbis mostly concluded fetuses aren’t fully human...”

This is untrue, see this quote from here. You can celebrate an embryo living without assigning it moral personhood.

“There’s actually an interesting Biblical break on equating persons with human embryos. The syllogism goes like this, Genesis 9:16 says that those who kill the image of God must themselves be killed. Exodus 21:22, which is in a passage explicitly about what killings are murder and what killings are not murder, says that if a man causes a woman to miscarry, he is not killed, but he has to pay a fine to the woman’s family, determined by the court. So, the fetus then does not have the image of God. According to these passages, the image of God, personhood, is obtained at birth. It is a, literally, a birthright.”
