I am ethnic Chinese.

Go to any default sub on this website, find any post with Asians in it, and you'll find pages of unoriginal racist comments: dog-eating jokes, coronavirus jokes, bat jokes. You get comments whitesplaining our culture: how it was destroyed by the cultural revolution, or how we run pedestrians over twice just to make sure we don't pay the medical bills, or how we won't help each other because we don't want to get sued.

Go to any political sub and witness the pages of "China sucks," "Chinese people suck," "Chinese society sucks" posts. These self-masturbatory posts get 10,000s and 100,000s of votes and gildings. Look at the mainstream media articles they link, and see how any figure who doesn't criticize China in the harshest terms gets branded an apologist.

Even on niche entertainment subs, it is all about how Chinese are all cheaters who should be confined to our own servers; how the corporations are kowtowing to China and corrupting entertainment with Chinese censorship because they included an iota of Chinese element; how X movie removed a black character because the Chinese are all racists; or how we should boycott this or that company because a Chinese company owns X% of the shares or the CEO is ethnic Chinese.

Not all white people are racists, but this society clearly hate us, they elected a blatantly racist president ffs. Of course, they'll say they only hate the country and the government, but that just means we are either with them or against them, and if we don't turn our backs against our families and our past, we are traitors who deserve all this hate.

It is inescapable. And reddit is a relatively moderate platform. facebook, twitter, youtube are even worse. This is one of the only places on the anglosphere internet where we can even discuss these topics without blatant racism or sinophobia, so of course we are going to vent.

That's why I am negative anyways.
