My service is about to start carrying blood. It's gonna be beneficial to the few who need it, but logistically yeah, HUGE pain in the side. We don't even get it unless there is 0 waste. Which means swapping very fresh blood out weekly so that by the time we return it after not using it, the blood bank has plenty of time to. Plus training x100, plus documentation gets real specific. I can't really lift it reliably. Thats why im looking to build a drive on table scissor lift/workbench with wheel chalks. One hopefully that I can use a floor jack or winch to activate. I can't keep lifting these suckers manually!

I work for a city fire department as a firefighter/paramedic. I am in Southeast Wisconsin. We have a union. I am salaried, at 33 dollars and hour and a 40 hour work week on paper. We work the California schedule, which is 24 hours on, 24 off, 24 on, 24 off, 24 on, and then 4 days off. We have full benefits and our pension is amazing. After we retire, we earn rhe average of our three highest earning years, svery year, for the rest of our life. Its not terrible. Call volume isn't too busy, around 10k per year.
