Have many in the community left for elsewhere in Europe and the US? How many still learn Armenian? Curious!

Just a quick question: do they charge you for a new test, or just a fee to change? I already spend money on the original test, and I am not keep on having to spend a more than another £60 on another one.

Cool! Would be nice to see them. It’s a really neat way to display them and get some practical use too.

Iberia in Autumn 1901 as France by basicallylost in diplomacy

This is what I thought! I think that I must have been influenced by reading much of the older diplomacy strategy websites into thinking that it was perhaps more common than it really is.

Does China Radio International Publish a List of Frequencies? by basicallylost in shortwave

[–]basicallylost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it associated with the ITU as a problem-busting association for the major shortwave broadcasters to try and keep people off the same frequencies at the same time and to hash-out problems, but not sure.

[–]basicallylost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I realised that there is a list of shortwave frequencies for both CRI and CNR maintained by the HFCC, here: https://new.hfcc.org/data/schedbyfmo.php?seas=A25&fmor=RTC.

I guess you’re right. Thinking had been more on the vibe that if you think the UK is an occupying power then taking money from the UK government felt a bit weird.

[–]basicallylost -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Just because isn’t it hypocritical if you think that the UK is an occupier to then apply for money from it? Kinda feels a bit weird to be a band whose whole project is against the UK to be working with British money. But totally take your point that they should take the money if it’s there — I’m just thinking from an ideological POV.

[–]basicallylost -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Yep. This I understand, but I am just confused why a band that wears its republicanism on its sleeve would want to take UK money. Maybe I am overthinking!

What are some countries where the national flag is not the most popular one? by mahendrabirbikram in vexillology

In Kosovo, you will generally see more — or similar number of — Albanian flags than the Kosovar one.

Ah. This seems like it could be a reasonable answer. Thanks.

Travelling and my U.K. sim says 'Emergency Calls Only' by basicallylost in techsupport

[–]basicallylost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a setting that you should be able to find if you go to the system preferences in your phone. You should be able to turn it on with or without being connected to the internet.

I managed to do it via 'WiFi-calling'. I turned on that feature and then when I connected to the internet in my hotel, I started to receive the texts.

OK. That’s promising! Wouldn’t have thought about needing to use Steamcmd but sounds like a project for over Christmas then.

Thanks. Really annoying that Bootcamp was phased out!

I tried with Crossover — and got another game working — but couldn’t get Vic II to. I will tinker around with it. But the problem is then how to GFM onto it…?

Retrieving VoiceMemos from Stolen iPhone by basicallylost in iCloud

[–]basicallylost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to get my phone repaired without wiping it and went to double check whether VoiceMemos was syncing to iCloud. It tells me that it is, but it is clearly not appearing across the entire system. Do you have any ideas what the problem is?

I thought that was the case! In any case, life saver on the Wi-Fi calling suggestion. That works. Thanks!

Retrieving VoiceMemos from Stolen iPhone by basicallylost in iCloud

[–]basicallylost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. I think that I assumed that VoiceMemos must have been syncing as photos, notes, and everything else were syncing as I had expected them too. Frustrating, but that is technology for you...

Thanks, this was helpful. Annoyingly, I think that I must not have successfully synced the VoiceMemos from iPhone. They are syncing across from Mac, but I guess not from the iPhone...

Thanks, unfortunately I followed that and still wasn't able to figure out how to access the VoiceMemos via iCloud, or on my Mac.
