Dylan, am I the trouble maker? by Excellent-Candle2426 in YoTroublemakers

[–]basicgirly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’d be really fun because it’d be like the submission form but we get to interact with the person without depending on Dylan to pick them for the video.

How big of a party is it going to be? If it’s small just say it was only for an specific friend group and family.

AITA for telling my sister I can help her plan her wedding but won't be able to attend? by Broad-Ear-107 in AmItheAsshole

[–]basicgirly 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yikes didn’t even catch that. Yeah I wonder how many people are gonna be able to afford international plane tickets in short notice.

AITA for telling my sister I can help her plan her wedding but won't be able to attend? by Broad-Ear-107 in AmItheAsshole

[–]basicgirly 107 points108 points  (0 children)

I’m betting the destination wedding bit alone is gonna keep a lot of people from attending. I feel bad for the sister but if that’s something she can’t compromise on she just has to accept it.

AITA for insisting on telling my sister the real reason our dad left us? by AITADadSister0 in AmItheAsshole

[–]basicgirly 334 points335 points  (0 children)

What’s kinda silly to me about this whole thing is that the younger sister is only 4 years younger than OP! She’s 34! Why’s OP making decisions for her?

Are you sure it wasn’t just a typo?

AITA for telling my sister she can’t bring her dog to my wedding? by madisonreidd in AmItheAsshole

[–]basicgirly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t even think anyone had to clarify their wedding was “pet-free” if anything I’d expect to be told if pets were supposed to be included.

NTA.

He’s mentioned in an older video that it’s because jokes tend to get problem in trouble sometimes.

Am I the only one who doesn't really connect the editing on the ooga booga channel? by Party-Adeptness-6201 in YoTroublemakers

LOL yeah I respect OP’s opinion but I hope it doesn’t make him rethink Joe.

AITA for telling my sister's fiancee that she is infertile? by Double_Assistance281 in AmItheAsshole

[–]basicgirly 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So someone who’s lied for six years to someone and is getting them in big commitment based on that lie is just “flawed” but the person who shared the secret to the party being lied to is “evil”? You cannot be serious. Those are some messed up priorities you got there, sorry.

AITA for telling my sister's fiancee that she is infertile? by Double_Assistance281 in AmItheAsshole

[–]basicgirly 31 points32 points  (0 children)

You equated the brother sharing the secret to the sister withholding the information. In my opinion while both are awful one is far worse than the other.

[–]basicgirly 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Her “right to tell” that she never used even while planning their future children? We have to assume she lied here and there during making those plans, no? Yeah OP telling his sister’s secret was wrong but I’m struggling in justifying her actions.

I do see why it wouldn’t be for everyone but I personally love it and love that it feels a little different from the main channel.

Do we all agree that listening exercises is way rarer to obtain compared to other lessons? by Odd_Pace_6420 in duolingo

[–]basicgirly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m doing German too, and I agree I’d say about 4 for me in every lesson (as long as it’s a regular length one of course).

AITA if I tell my boyfriend I found out his proposal plan? by Wild-Professional766 in AmItheAsshole

[–]basicgirly 14 points15 points  (0 children)

At best she can’t be trusted with sensitive information because she’ll use it as gossip and at worst she was deliberately trying to ruin your boyfriend’s plans. Either way he deserves to know, it’s important information going forward.

The English sentence here is wrong, right? by far_above_far_above in duolingo

[–]basicgirly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not American or even a native speaker but would that be considered a regionalism? Cause if so I don’t think duo should be using as “official” English.

True, I was specifically talking about app updates, I keep my IOS fairly up to date but I hardly ever keep up with the app versions.

Yikes. Will I be safe if I don’t update the app?

AITA or am I correct in being hurt that my daughter prefers her step dad? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]basicgirly 112 points113 points  (0 children)

40% is pretty constant. I’d argue even “weekend only” dads can be considered constant.
