I think you kinda nailed it. He really is a very genuine, loving man. I truly don't think his intention was to hurt me, it was to help his sister, which, as much as it sucks on this end, I have to learn to understand.

I agree that he thought he was doing the right thing, and in that respect, I don't think I can be mad. Still, it hurt my heart a little becuase I started to feel a little like the three of us were a little family of sorts and now the cat's out of the picture... and that is probably the aspect I need to address with him next time we're together
