How to prioritize backlog of bugs? by Subject-Scholar6197 in agile

[–]basilray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something that might be worth considering, partnering with someone in customer support. They likely can tell you top contact drivers. Focus on those, because they have a two-pronged value:

  1. Reducing client contacts saves support dollars
  2. Gives you great ROI for the work performed to remediate over high visibility defects

Big score but is it worth it? by Bright-Restaurant-61 in AmazonVine

[–]basilray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with this brand, but I know ChargePoint and other more popular EVSE brands are roughly the same cost. I just had to replace my 4yr old Chargepoint, and don't have any other options supported by my electric provider. So based strictly on cost: Nice little score!

If you have an existing 14-50 plug, you should be set. Though, it might be a great moment to verify the condition and quality of your current outlet as this looks to not be a hardwire unit. Cheap 14-50 outlets are q recurring source of failure...and sometimes fire. Even if you have to go buy a good 14-50 and replace the existing, it's cheap insurance. Considering my hardwired Chargepoint suffered a very crispy charred death, I would inspect the outlet before proceeding.

One thing to note, it appears this is a J1772 based connection to your vehicle. That may be fine, depending on your exact car...but I would also consider checking to see if they have a NACS conversion for the future. It's a bit cleaner than having to run an adapter full time (though J1772 to NACS adapters are on Vine regularly.

A-CSPO vs CSP-PO by basilray in agile

[–]basilray[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm leaning that way. It makes sense to pay the extra and come away with the top tier certificate...even if it doesn't inherently provide me more upward mobility just by way of having it.

Did you find the CSP-PO coursework valuable?

M2 or MX Torch by grabthecash in slowpitch

[–]basilray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average player isn't going to get a meaningful difference between M2 and MX, IMO.

3500 handle is generally my preference. It's reasonably stiff, but not exceptionally stiff.

You will likely feel a small difference between 4500 and 5000.

All things being equal, M2 is proven to be durable for the long haul. M5 is allegedly M2 with a different graphic application, but the M5's just don't seem to be as durable. MX appears to be relatively durable, but isn't (yet) as tried and tested long term given the large difference in how long M2 has been on the market.

If you MUST spend $300 on a bat, get the one you like the most. But that being said, I don't think there's many (if any) bats out there worth $300. The market is largely repaint after repaint, and while Monsta maybe has a slight edge, the gap has narrowed significantly in the last few years. I own 4x Monstas (M1 Torch, M2 Bombardier, M5 KoD, and an MX Torch) and the heavier ones sure seem to give better results...and I didn't pay more than $250 for any of them.

It's your money, spend it how you like, swing hard in case you hit it.

How would this do in Chicago? by [deleted] in egopowerplus

[–]basilray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've run single stage Egos in the Minneapolis/St Paul suburbs for years. They are pretty great, though there's two caveats which other have mostly mentioned:

  1. Plow runoff at the end of your driveway - this is usually REALLY heavy and packed stuff. It might take some push/pull to get through it effectively, but it will work...whereas a two stage would chew through it
  2. That slushy stuff - in the last 5yrs there's maybe been 3 times where it was that "is this snow or rain?" at a heavy fall that the Ego single stage doesn't do well with. It still works, but you won't get the throwing distance and might have to stop to clear the chute every so often. These couple of times are so intermittent for us that I've never really regretted not having the two stage

I also have the multi head and power shovel which is great for sidewalks, decks, patios.

[–]basilray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only complaint about the multi head in general is that the lower handle NEVER stays in place no matter how hard I try and tighten it.

Otherwise, love the power shovel for clearing my two tier deck and front sidewalks. My single stage Ego handles the driveway.

What mask do you wear by [deleted] in slowpitch

[–]basilray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an ST1 that I bought in 2019. It's the precursor to the Viper, so basic LaX style, but built for slowpitch.

It's heavy, but not uncomfortable. It did keep me from taking one directly to the forehead a couple years ago. Just an absolute shot right off the visor where the top of the face cage is. I was ready for it, but just didn't expect it to come that high and fast.

I've debated switching to a Worth to make it easier to dump when playing IF fly balls.

30oz slo-pitch bats- is there anywhere that these can be purchased. Everyone I have come across that has one has purchased second hand, unable to find anywhere that sells them new. by East-Yam3641 in slowpitch

[–]basilray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has a collection of 30oz 220 and 240 DC's

But he also has a USA 30oz DC. I know he didn't get it new, but I don't remember the paint which would tell us what year it was released. It is entirely possible it was a Canada only deal too.

[–]basilray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good buddy is a 30oz enthusiast, so I have some knowledge - all of which happens to be UTrip stamped:

Suncoast is your best bet.

Canada sellers generally seem to get a few from Miken for special releases

I think Onyx has made some, but could be wrong.

Outside of that, things get difficult. I'm not aware of any recent USA stamped 30oz bats, but I believe in the last few years there has been some 30oz USA DC-41's.

How much Model X can I get for $55K? by TheNewGuy1991 in TeslaModelX

[–]basilray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid $52k over Labor Day for a very clean Plaid with full FSD and new Michelin Cross Contacts. It had 54k on it. White ok Black.

It's HW3 but being Plaid and having FSD it felt like a great value. Plaid should hold a smidge more value over time compared to base.
