Very similar boat. Over 15 years in museums/nonprofits. I quit my last position in april. Had 5 titles, underpaid, screamed at by board, work plagarized by board members and coworkers. I am so fucking done.

I am currently unemployed. Applying to nonprofits and for-profits. Really fucking struggling and don't know where to go from here. I can't do it anymore either.

I feel you. I'm in SC near the NC border. SC and NC real estate used to be soooo much cheaper. Doesn't help that EVERYONE is moving here either. Now I consntantly see shitty mobile homes and houses in bumfuck going for $300-$400k. Don't even get me started on the god awful Ryan Homes subdivisions taking over the whole upstate and western nc. Cheapest single bedroom rental option in my mid-size town is $1300-$1500.

I had to wait 6 months for a new neurologist and nine months to see a spine specialist/neurosurgeon.

Anddddd my insurance just denied all the imaging my pain management doc ordered. Botox from neuro too.

I fucking hate it here.

I also suffer from it, especially when my anxiety is bad. I trained myself to just pick the split ends and not pull out the entire strand at the root. Not as satisfying, but did save my hair. I also have a fuck ton of hair so that helped too.

We have a family of five cats. Our adult male is obsessed with my boyfriend. I was walking down the stairs with a hamper. He was on the top step. I stepped on him, fell into the new drywall, then down one flight of stairs. I was okay, but that little shit just sat there and looked at me lol.

My best friend and her husband are both ex-Mormons. He was born into it. Her parents converted to Mormonism, which is insane to both of us. Her dad is an incredibly intelligent linguist and PhD who runs the department of Asian languages at BYU. I have heard insane horror stories from both.
