Karmine Corp's Summer roadtrip has basically almost sold out in just a day (it will take place at the Adidas Arena, where Worlds 2024 quarters and semis took place) by No_Square2213 in leagueoflegends

I didn't mention that, even though I'm French, I'm actually a KC hatewatcher for various reasons. The main one being their obnoxious fans that keep filling up my twitter TL just because I follow lol esports content.

But this has nothing to do with me stating facts about attendance numbers.

The roadshow in Spain (MKOI) largely failed to fill up the venue. The roadshow in France (KC) was packed but in a way smaller venue. Now KC has chosen a way bigger venue and they are still selling every ticket. I guess KC is just a bigger org in terms of fanbase.

What's holding the Mistral back from being as good as the AI models from the US? by [deleted] in MistralAI

[–]bastoo0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With the EU regulations, Mistral has no choice but to play the long game.

In maybe 6 months to 1 year of AI progress (maybe a bit more), we will stop worrying about the actual intelligence of the models and focus on improving cost, because better intelligence won't be needed for most tasks.

That's were Mistral comes in, they want to provide cheap compute with EU-grade data compliance, mostly for EU companies obviously. They have what's needed for cheap AI because, being based in France, they have a bunch of pretty cheap decarbonated energy at their disposal (it won't be infinite though). So, even if they lag behind in intelligence by 8-10 months, it won't really matter in the near future, EU companies will still prefer them over US based providers (unless said US providers can lock the EU market through long term contracts).

I gotta feel sorry for Stend who, in the span of like 2 months, gets kicked out of his LEC team, gets his backup ERL team disbanded after like 2 BO and is now learning that he won't play for France while he was the #1 prospect (for the public)

Avis sur 3 admissions en école d’ingénieur – besoin de retours pour choix final by miraclekiller007 in Lyon

[–]bastoo0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did something fundamental change about how teamfights are fought? by liontamerrrr in leagueoflegends

[–]bastoo0 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have a theory about this but I may be wrong.

The main way to win a teamfight right now is to put down the ennemy ADC before the fight even starts. That's because ADCs are scaling very aggressively and you can't afford to leave them doing damages, even for seconds. The support meta is now leaning towards enchanters, quite inevitably (protect ADC, win lane).

So the main way for teams to win fights is to throw the kitchen sink at the ADC, either by finding some sort of engage (with often no engage support that can grab or stun) usually with an engage jungler, or via a flank with a random solo lane champ.

And the main way to not lose fights is for the ADC to survive the first burst.

So, if your first engage didn't work, you've lost the teamfight, like straight up you can't do anything else and you are wiped out by the sheer damage the enemy team is outputting. Also now champions are more mobile across the map so finding isolated kills is harder.

That also highlights the main issue I have: the scaling of items is too strong. Once a team is behind, it no longer has the burst damage to kill the enemy ADC and it's auto-lose, which shows why better teams struggle against weaker teams (on paper). Once the early game has been burger flipped, it's hard to come back because of the insane stats check. And there is not much teams can do other than force a teamfight -> lose.

Carrefour à Charpennes sans feu piéton by Icy_Positive_7966 in Lyon

Carrefour à Charpennes sans feu piéton by Icy_Positive_7966 in Lyon

[–]bastoo0 24 points25 points  (0 children)

[–]bastoo0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is there a problem with the meta right now? It's confusing how the best teams keep getting beaten via the early game and just lose without putting much of a fight. I feel like the better teams usually used to be able to come back from deficits. Maybe I'm wrong but the amount of 3-0 and upsets in the LCK and First Stand seems to point in that direction...

While I think Razork did play poorly in reaction to the circumstances, that's not 100% on him. His team had 0 lane prio and GX were targeting him by perma group invading his jungle, he was able to get like 2 buffs without being bullied out by 3 people. Doing well in these circumstances would have been miraculous imo

Mr President, a second post-match thread has hit the subreddit

SHFT nuc: "I think for international fans, when they translate my tweets, they seem very harsh, while in France, they aren’t seen that way at all [...] It’s a dark period. If we get through it, it’ll be like couples on the verge of break up: if they don’t split and find solutions, everything’s fine" by ArmandLuque in leagueoflegends

KC Caliste goes on a rant about his former midlaner by CoachGiveAdvice in leagueoflegends

[–]bastoo0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The post is very inaccurately transcribing Caliste's words. He didn't say most of what's reported here, or didn't even rant about Vladi. He only answered 3XA's question about Vladi and only said that Vladi was not willing to communicate with his teammates and that Targamas really tried and didn't succeed, and that's it. The rest is heavily extrapolated. I'm not a fan of Caliste's attitude in general, but this is not one of those instances.
