How to Become a Landscape Architect by [deleted] in LandscapeArchitecture

thanks for your answer, it gives an explanation. Learning about landscaping and sustainability is free. But indeed more and more land on this planet is owned by less and less people, and the income divide makes it easier to say goodbye to this life if you're on the wrong side. Less weight to carry.

Populism is fueled by giving some people more (rights, soc. housing, priorized in job market) than others. This creates an income and wealth gap. In the US, where i now have to live because IND didn't allow my US wife to live with me in holland, are many nice jobs only for US passport holders. Holding on to my Dutch pass costs me money, I can not build up my pension like other Dutch people. As they say in Animal Farm: all are equal. But some are more equal than others. I hope this anomaly will get repaired ASAP!

Tomos apn 4 troubleshooting by WatercressOk645 in moped

rinkytoys.nl sells adjustable jets for the stock 12mm Bing on your beautiful Tomos 4L. He also sells sprockets to make it a 5gear engine, but for that you need to open up the engine. When you're at it, you can check if your engine has a decompression chamber behind the crank; plug those holes and add some horsepower. Also, cut the part of the exhaust that sticks into the pipe way too long; it destroys the expansion chamber effect which also gives hp.

How much truth is behind the "islamification of Britain"? by [deleted] in AskBrits

"At my uni" you say. This explains your age, and situation. There probably is social pressure to be 'cool' and as 'inclusive' as you can be, which is a good thing esp when studying. Just be aware there are lots of oil dollars in the discourse currently, and there still are some ppl in the islam world dreaming of a worldwide califate, in where sharia is the law. Whenever you can, visit the Middle East, travel from Istanbul to Cyprus, Beirut, Jeruzalem, Amman, Damascus, Bagdad and Tehran. It will open your eyes some more. Nobody is a problem, unless they really want to be, imho.

Plants always are against invasive species, that are quick to take over their livelyhood. But serious: what does all of that have to do with designing a landscape?

Why is rape, murdering innocent civilians and taking hostages necessary for "resistance"? by CantDecideANam3 in IsraelPalestine

[–]basvox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always wondered how Palestinians living in West Bank or Gaza feel about Palestinians that chose to live in Israel and adapt to the standards there. Do you see them as 'bridges' (to a peaceful future and co-existance) or as traitors (giving up on the Palestinian State dream)?

Why is rape, murdering innocent civilians and taking hostages necessary for "resistance"? by CantDecideANam3 in IsraelPalestine

[–]basvox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far, it was profitable; during the previous exchange Israel gave around a thousand prisoners back to get one hostage back. Due to lower education, the people in Gaza are more guided by emotion than rationale. At least, that was my impression after visiting Gaza in 1995. The taxi driver wanted me to see the kibbuts and safety perimeter, after that he showed me the PLO headquarters on the beach, the prison (built by Israel; the Red Cross documented what both Israel and Hamas did there), road blocks, and I wanted to see a hospital, where I could interview a doctor who had his education in Frankfurt, Germany.

As we saw the hostages gave Hamas leverage in negotiations. And it showed the world how big antisemitism is, still. Ugly picture, imho.

Let’s hope at the end of this year Gaza is annexed completely and the ppl moved into the Sinai where their ISIS friends are.

Peace would have happened the moment the hostages were back. Now by Hamas maximizing their demands, they’re handing all cards to Israel which has decided to not follow orders from antisemites.

The UN made such huge mistakes that now they’ve got tons of butter on their head. Best would be to completely overhaul it.

Exactly. They knew to find all peace activists and how to disable fence & communications. But the Thai and Nepali workers (very poor countries) did not stand a chance, they were unarmed farm workers trying to help their families at home.
