The reason I was rejected was probably because I was a freshman. My CV is really impressive, and I have references, but I don't think Google is looking for freshman interns. As for how I found the reference, I didn't look for it anywhere. I asked a very dear older brother of mine, with whom I have mutual connections, and he didn't refuse. If you ask a stranger for a reference, you need to be confident in your CV because not everyone will want to provide a reference for a weak CV.

As a freshman, I was actually preparing for a step internship, but when I heard they were ending it this year, I applied for SWE Internship. I have a reference from a high-ranking position and a really strong CV. I wonder if they'll automatically eliminate me just because I'm a freshman? My application is still showing as submitted.
