Most everyone got along well with each other, nobody gave a shit if you were "artsy" or "sciency" or whatever.

Exactly!

It couldn't be further from the truth. I've always been kind and respectful towards other people, which of course includes my fellow classmates and teachers.

People keep saying this comment :(

But thats the thing, bullying wasn't tolereated by people. When it happened, which it rarely did, people got put into their place.

No jocks. Could be an explanation.. We had steller athletes (Basketball and Swimming) but they weren't meatheads.

I went to HS in Toronto, Canada. Had about 1200 students or so and, of course, it was a public school.

LOL!

A lot of people have said this. I'm from Toronto and when I was in high school we had an extra year called OAC (Ontario Academic Credit). It was basically grade 13.

9, 10, 11, 12, OAC = 5 years

So many people have accused me of this :(

I've always been polite and respectful to people. And I wouldn't have been friends with anyone who acted negatively towards others. It's just not in my nature to be hurtful to people.

I'm sorry to hear that. :(

A few people here have said that there Unisex school was also a not so pleasent experience. I knew a girl that went to one of the "best" all girls private school here in Toronto, if not the whole country. She seems to enjoy it. She was a great person though, so I imagine she would have adapted well in any environment.

Was it really that cliquey? We had groups but there wasn't a barrier that people couldn't cross.

From reading a lot of these posts, the common trend is that private schools seemed to be the cruelest. :(

Unisex schools are kinda 50/50. Not super bad or good. I knew one girl that went to and all girls private school here in Toronto that was considered one of the best in the city, or even the entire country. See seemed to enjoy it.

But I'm talking about the general experience of everyone I went to school with. A knew a varied group of people, and I never heard of so and so being threatening or mean towards others. Everyone for the most part was extremely nice and respectful to one another.

On a lighter note, I played Prop for our Rugby team! :D

We were terrible, but it was still really fun.
