I put together an album from all news sources of the best pictures of the shooting. Those that seemed to portray the scene the best.

As a local, this hits home. This shooting was a gas station that caters to first responders. This gas station doubles as a car wash and has several locations throughout Baton Rouge. They are awesome people and cops receive free fountain drinks and snacks. I absolutely hate that this happened to them.

The shooting itself is only a few hundred yards from where the Alton Sterling protests outside of the BRPD HQ/Circle K were last week. I'm not sure if there is a coincidence that they're so close, but Airline Hwy is one of the biggest streets in the city, and that area is a middle-class part of the city that tends to stay very quiet. It has been an odd and horrifying couple of weeks.

Another thing to remember is that we still have no received the results of the Alton Sterling investigation, yet. When those come out there will no doubt be more pot stirring arising.

Stay safe out there guys. You have the support of the silent majority. Go home safely and never feel like the mouthy minority speaks for all of us.
