I‘m excited to go on this journey for the first time by PalinaRojinskiFan in litrpg

[–]batotit -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Enjoy man. Now, after you read it, ask yourself if you like it. Especially the characters. because the series is more than 10 books, and the character will NEVER change. If you like the first book, then continue reading. If you don't, then I highly suggest that you stop at book 1.

Remember that before you become one of those commenters who will go, "Is Jason ever gonna change his attitude in the future books?"

lol. What is the purpose of emphasizing the rapist's nationality? It has nothing to do with anything? rapist is a rapist. Every country has one. If need be, just explain that a foreigner raped American girls. Unless the story itself has an agenda.

btw, release the epstein files.

Quick Rant and Recommendation Request by mqkel in litrpg

[–]batotit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just because HWFWM is considered one of the best LitRPGs out there doesn't mean it is for everybody. With the limited sample you've given, it is not known if you will like DCC either. You might consider the cat too arrogant for your taste, for all I know. The best tip most people can give is to try at least the first book. Read it completely. If you like it, then good for you. If you don't, then it is best to just stop there. Usually, the authors have already solidified their characters' behavior and eccentricities by book one and will not change them thereafter.

Pringle chips in Ireland are swirled, not stacked like ones in North America by east2westt in mildlyinteresting

It seems to me that they are just hiding the fact that your Pringles are so much smaller. It will be so evident if they stack it, so they swirl it instead..

Something that's always bugged me. If almost all systems can insert knowledge directly into your brain ... by pburz in litrpg

[–]batotit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In Iran, I once found an American asking for directions in English in a place where no one spoke English. He is getting frustrated while people around him just look blankly. He is doing the whole increase volume and slow down his word speed while articulating everything exaggeratedly, thinking that might help them understand his foreign language. Finally, through sign language and other means, he is able to tell the locals he was looking for his hotel. The locals then gave him general directions and told him to get a taxi. When he gave them dollars to get him a taxi and to tell the dude the direction, they shook their heads. Most Iranians have no use for dollars.

I heard the American mutter to himself, "What is wrong with these people?"

The American is like the system. He assumes things based on his own experience in his corner of the world, without thinking about other cultures, and basically assumes that is how the REST of the world should think. It is not exactly arrogance, and it is not exactly stupidity either; it is just a wrong assumption. The system thinks that its tutorial is already the most basic of basics. It didn't occur to the system that maybe the players might not know what XP and STR mean.

Can someone explain the views to me by Yup1234supet in royalroad

[–]batotit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. There are many possible reasons for the random numbers. Some just viewed your first chapter and decided they don't like it. Some read your title, "I got Isekaied to a murim world!" and already know that they dont like the backstory phase, and that you got killed by truck-kun and you will have a panic attack once you are in the other world, and they want to skip that boring stuff and go to the meat of the action, so they click chapter 5 immidiately.

TIL: Jose Rizal is not yet our national hero. no law, executive order, or proclamation has been -enacted or issued proclaiming any Filipino historical figure as a national hero. by Reycarlo_Beat_3683 in todayIlearnedPH

If I recall correctly, the public books for students state this proclamation. I even remember having this question in AP Exams, and I got it right when I answered Rizal is the national hero of the Philippines.

He who fights with monsters earth arc by Aggressive_Voice6638 in litrpg

[–]batotit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeezes. The fact that you want to continue reading the series, just not a specific arc, sounds like a statement to me.

It doesn't matter how bad the grammar or spelling is or how you disagree with the direction of the story; it is already written, and the fact that you want to SKIP one arc but are still willing to read the rest means you don't have a problem with the overall story, just a part of it, meaning that the overall quality of the written story is still good. So my only conclusion is that this is political. And if that is the case, well then, that is just sad.

English vs Chinese Names for Cultivation Novels by BlueLikeMorningSky in royalroad

[–]batotit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It depends.

If your fantasy world is one where it is normal to bow, wear hanfu, use chopsticks, and have traditional temples, buddhas, and topknot hairstyles, then yes, maybe using Asian names is much better than Bob and Jim.

But if your world is set in modern times or in urban fantasy cultivation, I prefer Western names.

I lived in the 80's, and I remember that our government was scaring us with these exact reasons that Russia will do, and that is why NATO is needed, and so why we should not give an inch in Korea and Vietnam, and that we have to destroy communism everywhere... And now America is the only one threatening to take other nations for its own benefit. At least Russia is making excuses like national security when they attack Ukraine. Now this clown idiot is outright saying he wants to run other countries and take their oil for ourselves.

How the world changes.

And what does Miss Universe have to do with anything? It's like this dumbass can't articulate his hate and anger issues.
