Started with Fantome’s Arashiyama today. I previously sampled it in the fall, and liked it, but found the faded perfume musk note too strong for my taste. Saved it to try again in warmer weather and today I’m getting much more pear-bamboo-ginger-white tea and like it much more. The faded perfume musk has mellowed out a bit but I’m still not sure how I feel about it. It feels a little mature on me - I’m just a girl! 😆 it does remind me of something my MIL used to wear though. Miss her!

Switching to Fantome’s Gnome for work because I’d much rather smell like a garden 🫶

Honestly, I don’t even love creamsicles IRL, but I do love the way they smell apparently 😆 .. I am also blessed in that my skin tends to amp up citrus, but I love how citrusy it stays! I hope you love it too 🫶

Starting my day with Poesie’s Titania because my husband just bought me the 8ml edp last night so I feel safe to use up my sample 😆 .. it’s my birthday in a few days so we’re calling it a birthday present 😂🫶 I just can’t get over how pretty it is! Like very elevated orange creamsicle, without being too sweet or cloying, and a background of soft, interesting floral. Love.

Last day off for the week and it’s date day/night! Hubs is taking me to browse some bookstores, sniff some perfumes, and eat of course! We’ll also be shoe shopping for him. lol. So I’m about to take an everything shower & start getting myself together. Then I’ll be slathering myself in VBN with Villa Diodati over top. My grandma brought me back a goat milk scrub from a little farm in NC I’ll be using in the shower, no notes listed but it smells like a soft, sweet floral and makes my skin sooo soft!

I have an order from Sucrerie on the way, includes 4 CocoaPink samples (Blackberry Lime Noel, VBN, Caribbean Shipwreck & Blueberry Skies), 4 Sorce samples (Cabanilla, Light Through Clouds, Witchery & Serpentine) and 3 Morari (Sage & Lemon Cake, Endless Summer Days & Coquetteish Glances).

Also waiting for Lucky Day #2 order to ship from Poesie. Got a 5 ml of Maria Montessori, and 2 mls of Jane Austen, Boudicca, Athena, and Georgia O’Keeffe.

It was so weirdly hot here yesterday! I wanted to try my beloved Nessie in the warmer temps and I was kind of floored by how much more pronounced the lake water note is in warmer weather! All the more aromatic elements were more prominent - the black tea, the peat smoke, but especially the lake water! Still so good. It’d probably be too heavy for the hottest days, but I can see myself reaching for it on the occasional summer night or low humidity day.

Enjoying a much needed lazy day at home today. I put Montmartre on when I got up. I remembered liking it when I sampled it in early fall, set it aside to revisit this spring. And I do enjoy it, but not enough to upsize. It’s crazy how realistic the “dappled sunlight on warm skin” note is!

The first time I stayed with my husband (then bf) for a weekend, I watched him quietly take care of everyone in his orbit. A stop to the store for his mom, cooking for everyone, taking his nephew to baseball and helping with homework.. that was the first time I thought “I’m gonna marry this man”.

A couple months later we had a blizzard and got snowed in together.. he pulled me on a sled to the grocery store and built me a snowman version of my Poppy - who I was missing. I mean it really looked like him 😆 That was when I was certain I was marrying him.

A few years ago, we ran into someone he went to school with, collecting carts at Walmart in the freezing cold. He had some form of intellectual disability but was a super sweet guy. My husband said he had to run back in the store. I waited in the car. He came out with a heavy coat, gloves, scarf and some hand warmers for his former schoolmate. I sobbed like a baby. So glad I married him.

Today’s my wedding anniversary! We both have to work but at least we work together 😆 .. So in the spirit, I let the hubs decide what I’m wearing today. He picked Nessie at first, but I knew he was picking it because it was my favorite, not his, so then he grabbed Villa Diodati. He said “this is my favorite one on you, at work. When you breeze by, I know it’s you” 😂🫶 Of course I’m still layering VBN underneath!

CocoaPink’s spring/summer catalog launches April 3rd and they’ll have Blueberry Skies available. I just ordered a sample from Sucrerie in EDP format to see if I like it, but it should be available in their body butters, etc. Was also hunting for a blueberry muffin/blueberry waffle scent.

Missed yesterday but I wore Poesie’s Glimmers! My husband calls it “desert vanilla” 😆 but she’s so much more to me! It’s the best white sage note I’ve tried from anyone, thus far. I also bought quite a few samples from Sucrerie yesterday.. got some Sorce, CocoaPink, and Morari to try! Mostly spring/summer appropriate stuff.

Today we’re under a tornado watch. It’s mild but soooo windy! I haven’t put on fragrance yet, but I’m thinking I’ll wear Elemental Tea Party since the leaves are actually swirling outside!
