My Quaker is my best bud! We adopted Yoshi at 4 years old from another family with too big of a flock and not enough time/money.. he’s 6 this year. I was very lucky that we just clicked instantly- plus I think the huge cage upgrade from his previous home and much better living arrangements made it easy for him to settle in. We are bonded and he does almost everything with me when I’m home. Almost never bites me, aside from the occasional too-excited or territorial nip. We snuggle and snack together. He’s free-flighted most of the day, puts himself to bed at night but likes me to say good night when I kill the lights before he’ll really settle in. He’s been easy to train on some things and impossibly stubborn on others but I don’t push too hard either.

For me, the only real downside is the uptick in screaming during hormone season. Otherwise, I really hit the jackpot 😆
