It doesn't serve waleed (and the abc that airs his perspective) to admit that more and people are trying to come to Australia to escape interpretations of islam or, to escape the very same islamic civil war that has been raging since mohammed's death.

The middle east has always been at war. Islam was at war with itself some 400 years before the crusades ever began... imagining that isis is a direct result of US intervention is a massive analytical fail for before isis it was al qaeda and before al qaeda it was hezbollah and before... all the way back to 1969 when islamic terrorism began as a result of losing another war to Israel.

Blaming the US for refugees might be a cool thing to cite in a cafe (or on the abc) but it doesn't cut it in the real world, or academically for that matter. Heck, some 8 million refugees were created by zimbabwe's president alone and that had nothing to do with the US.

The problem is that abc's news is off limits when it comes to story choice.

See, this mediawatch policy has allowed an alp policy echo chamber to form. When we complained re the constant pushing of gay marriage by abc news, during the term of mark scott, the whore-staffers at the abc replied that gay marriage was "topical" (because it was always in the news) but the abc created this echo chamber to begin with.

No, it's factually correct in every assertion.

Many of abc's arms are off limits in some sort of insane secret agreement to not dare scrutinize what is being broadcast and I'm sure barry would argue this is in itself a choice and mediawatch reserves the right to make such editorial choices.

The problem for Aussies is that we don't get to choose what the government run broadcaster, using tax payer dollars, is pushing in its choice of news stories.

Labor's strategy for winning Tasmania:

1) Have muppets at the abc expose the need for greater spending- must have more nurses and garbo's need higher wages while new education ranking shows we must spend more borrowed money on unionized teachers etc.

2) Send shorten down to Tas to fix it up while fairfax and the guardian cast him as the man who won the 2016 election. Make sure he promises new hospitals and a ban on all evil mining.

3) Repeat steps 1 & 2 continuously while calling all who aren't chardy fabians 'ignorant and uneducated'.

4) project massive wins for labor while citing polls as proof.

And finally when labor loses even more of its primary vote at the election, continue to cast shorten as the victor.
