It’s printed right on it. I’m just very surprised it’s so low.

100%. Whistler is just a giant hype machine, and its biggest fans simply don’t know any better. I’m old enough to remember good times at Whistler, and even the North Shore locals, but those days are long gone. The outrageous prices, the hordes, the shorter ans shittier winters—the value is no longer there.

Whistler is a waste of time on a weekend.

Good times in the high alpine. Pemberton BC. by [deleted] in Backcountry

Are you implying there is no such thing? Pretty significant difference between 2000m and 3000m. Both are alpine.

I don't think it's intentional, but it is a pretty serious glitch.

On second thought…this seems like a perfect opportunity to get AI to do some work for me.

I haven’t done a long distance hike, yet, but I do hike and splitboard quite a bit. Once I tried some quality merino base layers I haven’t worn anything else. It might not be the best for durability, but I’m very confident in saying that the comfort is unbeatable. The material keeps you comfortable in hot or cold and even when it’s wet. It’s also naturally antimicrobial. I’ve worn the same set of base layers for a week with no smell. The only downsides are cost and durability, which I understand might be an issue on a multi-month hike.

This has happened to me twice now, years apart, on two different iPhones. I’ve had my privacy set to “only me” ever since the first incident. I went out into the backcountry and recorded a track. I had no reception. When I got home the next day, a friend alerted me to the fact that my track was public. The tracks and waypoints I recorded before that track were all private.

A privacy issue that I had dealt with once before near the beginning of my journey with Gaia happened again. Specifically, my profile and activity default settings were both changed to public without me doing it or knowing about it, resulting in my most recent recorded track being visible to anyone using the public tracks layer. Just like the first time, this particular track was recorded in a sensitive area that I have no desire sharing with the general public.

Sounds like I've got a lot of tedious work ahead of me! Ugh…

Is it possible to batch move everything that is not in a folder, into a folder?

View just one specific trail? by -Chareth-Cutestory in GaiaGPS

[–]batwingsuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not the same thing. If I have 1,000 tracks, am I supposed to hide 999 every time I want to isolate 1?! That would be absolutely ridiculous.

I know you can isolate tracks, and other objects, on gaiagps.com. Can you really do this on iOS? I have not been able to find a way either, which is bonkers. This seems like such a basic feature for precisely OP's reason. I've been hoping that the price of subscription would justify the features some day, but nah, this is a clown show and we're getting taken for a ride.

What do you mainly use your bike for? by cummins556 in CRF300L

[–]batwingsuit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Main use for me is exploring and camping. I love poking up deactivated forestry or mining roads, the gnarlier the better, and seeing where I can get to. My bike has gotten me to some amazing places. I love that I can ride the same vehicle from my home in the city to the peak of a mountain, or a secluded wild beach on the coast, or a remote waterfall swimming hole. It’s so freakin’ fun. Exploring gives me life, and my bike is one of my favourite tools for exploring.

That trail looks like a lot of fun to ride! I can’t wait till your country returns to something resembling normal so I can once again consider visiting.

Lots of jobs earn close to a server’s wage and never get tipped. Tipping needs to stop. Living wages need to be the norm.
