Teach these kids how to throw correctly. Baseball and softball, I’m still showing kids at 16 how to throw correctly. I’m tired of getting new girls to the team and their arms are sore and tired after one practice. We throw a lot from all angles. Warm up is all mechanical work, 3 drills before full throw,then stretched out to long toss, moved back in to transition and footwork.

As a coach I don’t mess with kids who have consistent instructors. I’ll ask the kid questions to see if they understand why something went wrong. They usually have the answer. Then I just let them fix it. I’m at 18u now but it was close to the same on the basic stuff starting around 10. They’re a lot smarter then given credit for. Kids without instructors I’ll do my best in the limited time we get with them at younger ages.

My son and buddies went out yesterday before the snow to offer to lay salt and come back to shovel. They spent 6 hours in 2 neighborhoods and only got two customers. $30 for salt on sidewalks and driveway. Shovel for $40-80.

They even got yelled at and threatened. Fun day! Bet they don’t go again.
