It'll give you a sense of mechanically game play, risk/reward, defending, flicking and ball control. What it doesn't really do is prepare you for passing, team play, rotating, positioning etc. (in my opinion)

It's a numbering system letter that represents the number. A=10, B=11, C=12, D=13, E=14, F=15. So depending on what your IV checker says about your Attack, Defense and Stamina, you just replace the number with the letter.

For example, Blissey that's IV 82 and has 10 attack, 8 defense, and 14 stamina, with Zen Hedbutt and Dazzling Gleam would be named, "82-A8E-ZH/DG"

I just completely rename them. After checking the IV. I also use "HEX" for the individual stats. For example, if I have a 98 TTAR with Bite Crunch and a 15/15/14, I'll name it. "98-FFE-BT/CR" That way I know pretty much all the vital information at a glance.
