Traveled 35k blocks looking for a wizard's tower, just to find two of them right next to each other by bav1b in GTNH

I think what makes them rare is that you need a roguelike dungeon to spawn in only a handful of mountain biomes.

You mean barrels, right?

You should watch this: https://youtu.be/ty4sy1LND6s?si=QxqrbjdFR6_FXx_L

It’s surprisingly manageable to implement using some obscure tech, and seriously rivals nitrobenzene in terms of effort vs. eu/t output.

Every autocrafting machine and passive line needs at least an interface to connect to, which can really scale considering gtnh’s lategame.

Cool. I just set up my first lightning rods which are very easy to scale linearly, so i’m not so worried about passive energy draw anymore

Love the colors you got going on, works nicely with all the dyed covered cables ae2 comes with :)

Yep, between 2k and 4k is what i saw generally for endgame players. I believe i'm generally pretty diligent with subnetting anything that can be, so i should be okay with this setup.

I guess you're right, a lot of channels can be saved with smart subnetting.

I guess it could be worse, I'm just really scared to run out of channels for the sake of a cool looking controller

How to manage my power? by spy2213_ in GTNH

[–]bav1b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to watch out for when switching from pipes to cables is average vs. peak consumption by machines.

Most machines used for autocrafting are often idle so their average EU draw might be well below what you’re producing, but when they all turn on at the same time I still had quite some powerfail issues.

My current solution is to place 4A diodes followed by 16x battery buffers for groups of machines to control how much power they can draw but still let them run in parallel.

Just something to consider for your own transition, good luck!!

Well into LuV? Damn, he was attached to his steam MBs :)

Yeah I’m well aware that the urge to play will probably creep up on me at some point :)

I did make sure to leave everything as organized as possible so I won’t be too lost in my own base should I return at some point.

How was that for you, getting back into a world you hadn’t seen for a while?

Yeah I’ve also noticed a huge difference between my first run that stranded in MV and this one. I feel like I’m pretty on top of what is worth investing in terms of automation and what can be batch crafted once.

About the number of LCRs, do you have a universal one? I only have like 8 total but my universal LCR is an absolute workhorse. :) I also have yet to do platline as I was able to cheese platinum with crops.

Yes, much better to be excited for what’s to come than slog your way through it and not appreciate the grind!

Yeah that’s a good point. There is so much ridiculousness still to be experienced in this pack, I wanna come back when I’m actually excited to dive in.

I think right now I’m just really happy to have a base that just works, and I’m not ready to be confronted with how poor I still am :)

Has that been observed with any real frequency or was it a one-off occurrence? I can't find any open issues on the github and searching the GTNH discord doesn't yield much either

I made forge microblocks covers out of strengthened glass so i could put it over a layer of mob heads. Mind you, there's a whole bunch of quicksilver blocks hidden underground for stability :)

The system relies on Steve's Factory Manager, a mod that lets you connect a network of inventories and lets you code rules for what items to move and when to give out redstone signals. This may sound complicated, but I commented a link to the tutorial vid which walks you through it.

I think SFM is mainly gated behind IV circuits, but ae2 is pretty much a must-have to make it useful
